Deliberately not paying for premium in the hopes that the ads would reduce my addiction to youtube has seen mixed success. Mostly resulted in increasing my average stress levels from truly absurd ad densities in content. However I am starting to get much more selective about the content I consume and close youtube way more frequently than I used to so the friction is causing some progress. nah thats incredibly inefficient. mpv can already block segments that it gets from sponsor block, its seamless. it would be better to just skip the ad segments as a viewer. youd only need to edit it out if you intend to distrubute the vid i guess

there will always be some logic to it you can reverse engineer. i dont think they will want to put an adblock right in the middle of a run on sentence for example. so that would be logic you could use to determine where they would be. based on the transcript, and the video length.
