Fedora with proprietary codecs, nvidia drivers and non-free packages enabled by default would quite literally be the perfect distro. It would be *the* distro to end all distros, actually, since it's a perfect balance between between bleeding edge ones like arch and stable ones like debian/ubuntu for desktop use. If FESCO wasn't retarded they would capitalize on this for the upcoming windows 10 EOL, but they'll just sit on their hands like always.

This. Bazzite is very close to perfect, I wish they didn't market it as a meme gayming distro.

Stop talking like an LLM. And Arch isn't bleeding edge, it's rolling release. Fedora frequently ships beta/git versions of core software like the toolchain to their users, and that's without even opting into the testing repositories. And Arch has codecs by default you know. It sounds like what you want is Arch.

You're thinking of Nobara - it's Fedora with proprietary stuff enabled by default.

They have been running the most reputable third party fedora repo for years. They are developing a chromebook bootloader and bunch of other stuff.

Literally the most corporate cancer linux distro imaginable, what the fuck is wrong with the people using this shit? Might as well just use windows.

Hasn't it already been two months since Fedora 42? Besides that glaring issue this sort of looks promising.

The only distro i consider a valid and serious option is Arch. Everything else is nonsense goyware that might as well not exist.

Those are all things you could write a script for, why not say "use fedora with my script"

>they would capitalize on this for the upcoming windows 10 EOL,
it isn't like you have to pay for Fedora, the more people that use it doesn't directly translate to more money

So do it yourself. It's not hard to add that stuff. Windows doesn't even come with fucking drivers half the time.
