I haven't been to /g since the AI revolution began, but in the last couple of months I created a startup and I'm finally making bank. I made over $10k this month and I wanted to check in to see how everyone else is doing. It feels like we're at the beginning of something beautiful. No longer do you need to work for someone else. The quality of the video dataset (image quality, resolution, and fine-grained caption) greatly influences the performance of the video generation model. The growing demand for video applications sets higher requirements for high-quality video generation models. For example, the generation of movie-level Ultra-High Definition (UHD) videos and the creation of 4K short video content. However, the existing public datasets cannot support related research and applications. In this paper, we first propose a high-quality open-sourced UHD-4K (22.4\% of which are 8K) text-to-video dataset named UltraVideo, which contains a wide range of topics (more than 100 kinds), and each video has 9 structured captions with one summarized caption (average of 824 words). Specifically, we carefully design a highly automated curation process with four stages to obtain the final high-quality dataset: \textit{i)} collection of diverse and high-quality video clips. \textit{ii)} statistical data filtering. \textit{iii)} model-based data purification. \textit{iv)} generation of comprehensive, structured captions. Explain with a straight face how all of Flux Dev, Lumina 2, Cogview 4, HiDream, and now Cosmos 2 are actually even very different from each other at all in terms of output. Then address why HiDream was for some reason treated like the second coming in comparison to the rest of the post-Flux ones, despite it also being the only one with a very significant and noticeable dropoff in prompt adherence after exactly 128 tokens.

SD 3.5 Medium also had its strengths (good support or up to 2 megapixel gens, a distinctly non-plastic photographic dataset, etc) but despite that also being receieved well in comprison to the original SD 3.0 everyone just sort of randomly stopped talking about it.

TLDR no one wants to do fucking anything to make anything into anything better than it is, that's the core of the problem probably. It's not a lack of viable options to use as baselines.

I have seen a total of 0 (zero) people in this general who bothered to try out Flex or care about it since its inception, and even researchers still use Flux Dev for their experiments instead of Flex despite it being undistilled and its license being less restrictive.
