Dev charges money for iToddler version of the app while he gives it for free to Winjeets and Andjeets freeloaders.

How is this a negative? He has literally stated that the whole thing is built on the back of iOS purchases. It funds servers and development time, and keeps ads away from the software.

Besides, I'll never use iShitty, so I'm all for it.

I don't know anything about it, but I keep seeing anons say that they pair it with Obsidian or other such note-taking apps. I use Obsidian on the PC, is there any reason I'd want to pair it with Anki? My mobile note-taking is minimal so I just use the default app, I don't even sync anything automatically.

1. One of the worst UIs I've ever seen, perhaps surpassed only by Callibre and GIMP. It simultaneously has way too many features while making common features hard to find. I should not have to spend hours learning how to use your software.
2. Pretty much the definition of bloatware. A simple flash card app should not hard depend on QT WebEngine, itself the most bloated piece of software in existence - as if Chromium wasn't bad enough, QT had to add even more bloat. It takes about 4 hours to compile QT WebEngine from source.

The only reason I use Anki is because of the widespread availability of pre-made decks and ease of syncing across multiple devices for free.

Do you even know what it does, frogfriend? It has nothing to do with obsidian.

I agree with QT, I have always hated QT. I disagree with everything else though.
>A simple flash card app
This isn't a simple flash card app.
>I should not have to spend hours learning how to use your software.
>Noooo, I can't afford 2 hours to learn how a program I'll be using for thousands of hours and which will save me countless more, works, time is money, nooo...
Ok, normalnig.

I am happy to spend hours learning to use a program if there is a worthwhile reason. I invested the effort in learning to use Neovim because the result is genuinely much faster text editing. I'm not going to spend hours learning how to use a program just because the developer is too incompetent to implement a good user interface. That is the difference.

It's repetitive

It is, it's just filled with retarded UX shit. I like the program, I've used it every day for the past decade, but it's hardly ideal. It's like Calibre, another piece of shitware I use for the sake of convenience, purely because nobody makes anything better.

Oh, I keep forgetting it's the flashcard thing. In my defense, there are a ton of note-taking apps that anons use, it's hard to keep track. Either way, I don't think I have a use for it, it seems focused on memorization rather than long term knowledge bases.

Actually, I take it back. I didn't know about the pre-made decks, they seem cool. I am a dumb frogposter, I admit it.

Are there any other apps to keep in mind that offer pre-made decks, in case Anki doesn't have it?

I've never needed to use it. I don't even understand what do people use it for except for college and learning Japanese.

Language learning is the obvious use case.
Though I've been thinking of maybe getting a deck to brush up on my geography a bit.

I don't actually know what's happening when it says that it's marking a card as a leech but I suspect that that card is disappearing forever from my studying and I don't like that. But maybe I should stop being retarded and get the answers right.

It isn't, and being a reductionist faggot doesn't make you cool, it just makes you a faggot.

Recently I've been using it to better retain new programming languages. After you learn 10 or so a lot of them start mixing together (which ones use append vs push, which for each loop syntax belongs to which language, etc.)

Also began using it to work on common misspellings and general vocabulary development.
