Fell for the Hidizs AP80 Pro-X meme a while ago. It's okay, but the screen is too small to have comfy usability. By that I mean the lack of features such as add to queue, and kind of troublesome experience browsing a library with too many artists/albums.
Anyway, any recommendations for something better? Is anything with a bigger screen just better?

I'm looking for an iem that has the same treble as the zero 2 but has bass between zero 1 and zero 2, closest I found is the cadenza, what other iem share the same sound profile?

>Is anything with a bigger screen just better?
generally speaking yeah. you'll get a faster processor, more screen & touch space, more battery life, etc.
smol pmps like ap80 and shanling m0 serve a more niche purpose.
probably avoid other hiby os players, as they'll have similar UI/UX. maybe an android player is better for you, can use any supported players for the features you want

you should not really be looking at treble past 6khz it's quite unreliable. many iems float around a similar sound. i suggest you simply use simple eq software to tilt the sound of any iem you have more to your preference rather than spend more money on redundant ultra-budget iems.

What the fuck
It's also far lower volume compared to all my other pos, maybe that's why it sounds worse to me. Does the Hane take more juice than usual IEMs? I have like a $300 PMP that doesnt have issues with other IEMs but on this one even cranking it up to 100% volume doesnt sound loud enough.

I mean I already know that I'm a high volume enjoyer and I prefer more volume to the average non-deaf individual
But as I said none of the other IEMs I've tried have been this low volume at 100% on my Hiby R4.
>What other IEMs have you tried?
Most of the $20 1DD pos for starters just because they're all that ever gets talked about in this thread.
But I also have sets that are around the same price as the Hane like the Tanchjim Fission and Truthear Nova that have the same kind of volume level as the cheap crap 1DD ones where around 75-80 volume is good and 100 will destroy my eardrums, yet with Hane even 100 isnt enough.

Yeah, the Hane is less sensitive than almost all pos out there because of the passive filter for the switches. I never expected it to be an actual problem for people, I saw only upsides because less sensitivity also means less sensitivity to hiss and I get way more than enough volume even on weaker sources.

What exactly is the argument against hybrids? When comparing Hexa to Gate I feel like the high treble is better on the Hexa. Given that it has a BA dedicated to the high frequencies (see green line in picrel), it seems to me like it's a good idea. Ignore the part that the other BA is not high-passed, but wouldn't a 1DD + 1BA be better than 1DD, if the BA is high-passed somewhere above 2 kHz?

you lower system volume, pregain on peace, or even volume control on your dac, you also lower bit rate.

a dac with a physical volume rocker is important, given you have system and app volume at 100. only way I end up clipping is if I fuck with eq myself, which at that point, a -2db or so of pregain doesn't really matter.

also...setting pregain to, -30db so you can push your amp all the way up, does nothing.

eq guide anon is asking whoever posted the impulse responses of the ea500lm and zero2 if they can use it in their myths and misconceptions section, and if yes could they provide the frequency response and impulse response overlays for the three measurements (ea500lm, zero2 no eq, zero2 eq)
if wanted, you can also be credited with whatever you want (comment, image, etc)

Both graphs were from crin and the EQ was all performed inside REW through convolution. The impulse to convolve with was generated in all SPL > trace arithmetic > A/B. EQ guide needs something higher quality, you can repeat this process with a rig, apply the impulse in APO and measure again, that will leave no wiggle room for bullshit complaints.

What stages are there? If I have a dongle and a computer, I plug it in, there is only one stage, isn't it?
Anonymous No.105674992 [Report]
>>105674838
all the points in your signal path where volume (gain) can be adjusted. if you only have a dongle and a computer, there are multiple gain stages, both digital and analog.
software output level is the first gain stage. the volume of your music player, daw, etc.
next is your eq software, if applicable. equalizer apo and music apps have their own gan stage. setting a negative preamp for any reason, is a gain stage.
some dongles use digital volume attenuation before converting to analog.
then it's the dongle hardware, if it has physical volume controls, that's another stage.
ideally, you want your dac/amp to be the sole controller of final volume output, assuming your software's volume is at 100% as well as system/phone volume at max.

so in the past like 2 weeks I've tried a few IEM's for both gaming and watching media cause I couldnt rely solely on youtube reviews alone.
>Hexa
liked the fit and feel but the audio felt off to me for both gaming and videos
>Tanchjim bunny
the all arounder, backup IEMs in case something breaks or i need something while waiting for another pair. worth every penny
>moondrop chu 2
fits snug enough, audio is a bit better than the bunnys
>Zero Reds
very good but didnt fit well in my ears to warrant keeping
>Wan'er1&2
the Wan'er1 felt a bit off with vocals compared to the 2, I think if I were to settle on a midrange IEM at the moment it would be the Wan'er 2 as it fit well and sounded excellent overall but I wish it came in jade green
atm still waiting to recieve a pair of 7hz saltones zero's and a pair of Truthear gates.
