In my case the automation is to give my family members something to stream. If it's for myself everything will be manually selected. I don't want to get the best encodes or remuxes for this purpose because it wastes my space and bandwidth. At the same time I am not planning on adding HUNO or other slop into the mix and I've already added a bunch of the automated microencodes to the shit list. For me the ideal thing to download for streaming is an Amazon rip. If something is a little bit better or worse I'll allow for it. I don't want my automation setup constantly upgrading shit as long as it's not total garbage.

There is so much overlap but TVV's quality rules are more lax. If the sources for a series are incomplete you're more likely to find it at TVV. If it's imperfect it's more likely someone will upload it to TVV than bother asking for staff approval on BTN. So basically rare old shit sometimes in questionable quality.

A lot of the older BTN content is basically cross-seeded from TVV. BTN is mostly good for newer TV but TVV is still the place for older TV shows.

I also want to say BTN not being the PTP of TV allows a niche for TVV to exist. In a world where BTN made their rules clearer and more focused on building out a complete library of TV shows there would be no need for a TVV. One argument for the low user caps (~40k) is that private trackers need to stay under the radar of law enforcement. But is that really true? There are plenty of trackers with much more users (Z-network, TL, EMP) that have way more users than that. TL for example has all the mainstream big budget content in the world. So torrent count doesn‘t really matter in this case. No indie studio or arthouse filmmaker will/can pursue legal actions against PTP for housing their obscure, low-budget movies. It‘s always the big players who do that. I know there are other reasons for a low user cap (eg. more users = more staff, more moderation, more FLS which trackers don‘t have a lot of). It just seems that it doesn‘t really matter wether they have 40k or 50k users. At least when it comes to the law enforcement argument. I doubt that anyone would bother to take down KG even if they had 300k users, since they exclusively have obscure and low-budget content. No studio is going to pursue them, they simply don‘t have the resources.

If it's not that it's "residential" where it's some bullshit "ISP" that doesn't really do residential service and may also be giving service to VPN providers.
