It is proprietary without reproducible binaries like Brave spyware and is also Google monopoly trash like Brave. Install open source Librewolf.

It's just another Chromium browser with extra features.
It works, if you trust them handling your data, but there are better alternatives.

it's a bloated mess with way more settings and features than you'll ever need and loses performance because of it. even firefox performs better
it's like the KDE of browsers

It's pretty good, and if you trust the devs it's a decent "normie isolation browser".
I only use it for things where my identity is compromised already. So job related things, government stuff, webshops and youtube.
It has a weak built in adblocker that is just good enough on something like an ipad to be usable. I like the extra features it has a lot as well.

I considered using Chrome for this, but I don't want google to have ALL my data just yet.
If I ever decide on a personal/professional domain name and move over from protonmail paid sub to google workspace in the near future I will probably move to Chrome as well.
I need my normie shit synched to my phone/tablet/pc.

I have Firefox for cute and funny purposes so that won't do for synching obviously.
I might move that to librewolf or whatever in the future as well.

If you're looking for a featurer ich and highly customizable browser, vivaldi is excellent . Some may argue that it feels bloated, but you have the option to disable nearly everything you don't need. The primary drawback is that sadly it's built on Chromium...

If you're coming from Floorp, you'll love vivaldi for surer, as Floorp draws inspiration from Vivaldi.

Vivaldi has been my daily driver browser for years. The only issue I have with it is that some builds can be a bit buggy and have issues that other Chromium browsers don't have.

It's not the most lightweight and fastest Chromium based browser but not the worst either. Opera and Brave are slower.

They fucked up the tab stacking where you could drag and drop from the top little few pixels on a stack or something similar it's been like 7-8+ years back.
I made a forum post about it, they didn't know what I meant so I provided some screenshots, turns out not many people used the feature but they restored it in a couple of days as it wasn't meant to be removed.
I respect them ever since even if I only use it for normie stuff now.
Some other browser devs would have hit me with the "usecase?" meme for sure.

I don't use tab stacking so I didn't know about this bug.
But a more egregious example is the bug where the url in the address bar doesn't refresh in some tabs while you're browsing. This bug is widely known and has existed for years, yet the devs refuse to fix it. There are plenty of forum posts about this bug dating back years, in most the devs simply ignore and do not give a response. I noticed the bug happens less often nowadays, but it's still present.

It's pretty great, the interface is very customizable and has a really useful quick notes feature. Ublock origin still works.

shit only started happening in past month or so, couldn't find any feedback reports about it so I guess nobody even bothers using search engine shortcuts

After one of the Cromite updates made it crash on launch I switched to Vivaldi on my phone and it's been my main browser there for some months now. I noticed it uses a bit more battery than Cromite but not enough for me to care about
Its "hide status bar" feature doesn't work for me, I just get a black bar there. It works on some WebView browsers like Soul but I trust those browsers much less
On PC I use Librewolf as I haven't had much reason to change yet

Good, but slow. Third party ad blockers work just fine even for video streaming, so it gets a pass in my book.

Lmao, I've been spamming this YolkOtterโ„ข nonsense in every browser thread only to now find out that it's a real thing. The Otter part at least.
