I said local multiplayer. no one wants to play on their studio with a pc. They want a big screen on the living room

Well in that case, buy 2 wireless PS4 controllers, download PS2 PSP and Wii emulators and a bunch of roms, configure the gamepads properly, setup the graphics fpr each emulator and have fun.

Most PC games don't support local multiplayer.

I don't bother with modern consoles any more. Splitscreen gaming peaked with the Xbox 360, so that's what I use. The Switch has Mario Party, Smash, Mario Kart, and that's it.

Most PC games are a carbon copy of the version available on other platforms

Just play games you can host over LAN (on PC)

Use Steam remote play together.

Hook it up to a bigger screen. It's how I play Stick Fight or Broforce with my kiddoes.

YOU CAN DO THAT!? what's even the point of pc monitors then
Anonymous No.105675812 [Report]

with the local multiplayer functionality removed.
>>105675244
How is that going to help? If the game doesn't support split screen all remote play is going to do is make both of you fight over the controls of a single player game.

Then you need the desk space for at least 4 desktops, at least 4 monitors, at least 4 mice, at least 4 free outlets, and you either have to set up a teamspeak or clear all the furniture out of a room to fit it. Or I guess you could rent out a venue for your lan party.

Unless you're playing exclusively modern AAAslop (which typically doesn't support local multiplayer or self-hosted servers) you can get a laptop capable of playing most fun multiplayer games for like $600, I'd wager most people on this board have at least 2 such systems in their house

>>105675866
still need mice, outlets, and desk space. Unless you want to make everyone play with trackpads and the laptop sitting on their laps.

Nigga there's no way you only have 1 surface in your home. I live in a shitty apartment and I have a coffee table in front of my sofa, and a small dining table in my living room in addition to my desk in my bedroom. And mouse+keyboard are $20 at best buy.

Dining table is full and has no outlets, bar is full and the outlets are in use, coffee table is too low to the ground and you can put your legs under it, that leaves the counter which has no free outlets and is also lacks the space needed to use a laptop and mouse..

Most people aren't untidy slobs and have clear surfaces most of the time

There’s mods and third-party programs you can get on PC to turn LAN and online multiplayer games into local ones with multiple controllers or keyboards etc. I tried one, I think called Nexus Coop, on Minecraft and got it working though I had to do extra fiddling with the in-game controller settings (as opposed to Nexus’s settings. I think I disabled the controller on one window) and I had to install another mod for controller support.
