i always get a good laugh out of such posts
rofi will unironically run fine on gnome on xwayland
you will need to install the wayland fork of rofi to make it not work on gnome
the problem with xwayland is that anytime some applies fractional scaling on their display xwayland apps get blurry as fuck
maybe gnome fixed it now like kde did but it is probably a secret hidden gsetting as usual
