I mainly use the index, I rate threads less about the topic in the OP and more about the slapfighting I see within

I did for a year or so when I first started. You actually miss out on a lot of good convos happening in the replies of an OP that looks lame as hell if you do that, but I’m lazy so I just use catalog these days.
