Why is there never a discussion on this gadget? Why is there no general? No repository?
Is this an underground unknown item? I thought this tool was well known?
Seems pretty based, why are they so scared of it?
glows kinda
seems sus
kind of overpriced
How much for one? Let's keep this thread bumped for a bit ok?
>>105682283 (OP)/diy/ device, not /g/
it is in a very weird niche of a kinda overpriced jack of all trades of electronics
connect these and then connect them to your phone via bluetooth or usb cable
>>105682283 (OP)>Why is there never a discussion on this gadget? It was a trendy consoomer item that blew up on TikTok. It's not a "tech item" you'd typically find threads about on a place like /g/, nor does it do anything revolutionary or novel
I don't know what it does
normies are just now learning that radio waves can be scanned even though they've been using them their entire life im ded fr fr
>>105682283 (OP)if it was $20 id get one and play around with it but at the end of the day its an overpriced toy that i have zero use for
>>105682538190 Euro currently
Its not liek this is the A & O. There are dedicated devices that are better, but this just has everything jampacked. Firmware is open source and firmware can be changed. The cc1101 can transmit full spectrum when firmware is unlocked
>>105682807why would it be /diy/? Do they have a general?
>>105682897what is that
>>105682283 (OP)>Why is there never a discussion on this gadget?because it's funny for about 5 minutes then it joins the raspberry drawer forever.
>>105682283 (OP)It's basically a toy for script kiddies. You can achieve better results with an SDR, but you actually need to study for a while before you are able to operate one. Meanwhile, with the Flipper provides an all-in-one solution that any wannabe haxxor can figure out without any RF knowledge.
>>105683234there is no general for specific devices or brands, but of hobbies, and its a mix of electronics >>>/diy/ohm/ microcontrollers >>>/diy/mcg/ and radio stuff >>>/diy/ham/
>>105683320also /diy/ is a slow board, a thread can last like a month and that is good when people are actually doing stuff
>lets talk about this radio transceiver
>it transceivers radio waves
damn..
>>105683234that is a cc1101 connected to an esp32
>>105682283 (OP)It's a skiddy toy with zero practical uses outside of party tricks.
>>105683482your life has zero practical uses.
I love how this thing makes the Eglin and FBI retards just seethe and piss their panties.
>>105682283 (OP)Imho its overpriced tool for tinkerers. If you actually need a hacking hardware, you will probably be better with dedicated tools, like jammers, hackrf, proxmark or rubber ducky.
>>105682283 (OP)It's overpriced proprietary garbage for retards.
>>105683482this. also, it's fucking gay.
>>105682283 (OP)What do people actually do with these aside from steal cars and turn things off?
it was a nothingburger shilled to youtubers
>>105682283 (OP)i stopped using mine after the police started patrolling my neighborhood
>>105685637my apartments laundry card doesnt phone home to check the balance (you top it up from a debit machine) so i use it to reset the balance to $50 whenever it's low.
>>105685637The problem is the people who are into this tech are too pussy to do any real crime with it. They will find some shitty use for it like opening their front door even though they already have a key for it and go on and on about how useful it could be.
This device can't really do anything more than a motivated roody poo with a hammer could. And that doesn't cost $200.
>>105685739you cant hotwire a car anymore unless its a clunker piece of crap.
Go and steal a car faggots the worst that can happen is 3 years in the slammer or some probation for your first offense if you get caught. make sure you steal from one of the little people though.
youre going to have to learn eventually anyways.
>>105682283 (OP)you spammed the shit out of the board with ads for it when it launched so now it's report on sight
>>105682283 (OP)Overpriced toy with an easy GUI.
Buy a real SDR instead if you care about radios. This thing only does below 1 GHz.
If you care about RFID and NFC, then get something like a Proxmark clone.
Infrared is so cheap that you can get something going with a few bucks. Your smartphone probably has an IR blaster on it.
>>105685637It's for "pentester" LARPers and people who enjoy toys. Nobody doing serious red team exercises is using a gizmo like this. Anyone who wants to learn the technology can get better resources.
you can go travel to shenzen(china i think it was called) and get a top of the line sdr with dual band and up to 5g range for cheap.
>>105682283 (OP)They said that thing was good at stealing cars but it turns out modern key fobs have a long list of codes they cycle through, so I don't see how its possible to unlock a car just by detecting the signal with this. You'd have to have access to the list, and at that point, you would probably have access to something better than this consumer grade chinkshit.
>>105682283 (OP)>Why is there never a discussion on this gadget? It's a toy that pen test fags and hormone habit redditors truunjak about. Real niggas were already kitting out old Samsung galaxy or Nexus phones with antenna and customs ROMs. And at a fraction of the price of the Dolphin.
>>105685717What company provides this system? If it's the same as mine, I'll take full advantage of it.
>>105686273theres multiple threads on it, this one was my system
https://old.reddit.com/r/flipperzero/comments/10m5wqr/laundry_card_analysis_successfully_wrote_a_valid/
>>105682283 (OP)I've learned this shit was the talk of the town on Tiktok for a while, people use it to open doors and hack access points for silly internet points and so the US banned imports of this thing
>>105682283 (OP)>Why is there never a discussion on this gadget?https://desuarchive.org/g/search/text/flipper%20zero/
>>105682283 (OP)How long has it been since dolphin.exe came out? What useful shit can you do with it?
the threads usually go like this
>ok what can it do?
>open garage doors
woww... hacked.
>>105688765excuse me i probably should correct myself, it opens some specific types of garage doors. lol.
>>105682283 (OP)Probably cause it was immediately nerfed and everything you do with it is illegal.
>>105688902It was nerfed. You have to hack it before you can hack with it.
>>105682283 (OP)This is a gadget for idiots that want to feel smart. They don't understand that there is datasheet and tech documents that give you all info you need about this and 99% of the posts on reddit cant be solved if they knew this.
"can I x and y with flipper zero??" "best hack plugins" like jesus christ I can build same shit for dollars, only difference would be the size, thats literally the advantage it has is the size.
they don't even have it open sourced and probably irrelevant actually.
it has multiple antennae for rx/tx, it can also be flashed with custom firmware, u can write your own scripts, ie: listen on this freq, increment by 10hz, listen for 10s... etc. sure, script kiddies can use it, but it can do more than what default firmware comes with. u can even download inputs from github that other people recorded, so u dont have to camp some device til it emits a signal... it can capture and replicate RFID signatures, etc etc...
>stealing cars, opening garage doors...
whatever, man
it also has uni i/o pins, u can buy a wifi module as well from the same company, lets you operate on microwaves as well. deauth, hash cap, bla bla
>looks gay
probably missed the point there my dude, the point was to purposefuly make it look like a toy/tamagochi/whatever, as opposed to whipping out a fkin pineapple with 3 sus antennae sticking out of it..
not the best choice for proffessional offsec and serious haxx, but pretty cool nontheless. potential for collective effort with building databases of signals as well.
but leave it to anons to always have a strong opinion on shit they're not that familiar with in the 1st place
Mostly since it's a toy which only a few professionals use. Ironically, most of my cybersec friends do not use it, but some of my physical sec friends do.
It does allow college students to look cool while they're barely able to understand what is happening.
