i just bought an xbone at a pawn shop for $90 and disconnected the wifi card. i have to use a wired controller but it's fine.
everything i've ever wanted to play is available for this hunk of shit anyway.

i do find the xbone's architecture rather peculiar, seeing how they had to work within constraints because of the kinect. instead of using a giant graphics memory pool it uses standard DDR3, 8GB of it. but there's an extra 32MB of ESRAM that the system can use as some sort of cache, i'm not technically inclined enough to know what it's really for. all i know is that it's a way of compensating for the slow ass DDR3 (the PS4 used GDDR5).
i wonder if developers ever struggled with that. a lot of xbone games that i've played do run at 900p while the ps4 version is at 1080p. i can't believe cyberpunk even runs on this thing.

I game on a PS2 Fat. SSD mod so I just download game ROMs, and added a Brook Wingman so I can use PS4 controllers over bluetooth.

Thinking about a scaler but it's mostly good enough for now.

I played with Bluetooth controllers on the ps2 for about 2 minutes before deciding that the 700ms of time between me pressing a button, and the game reacting was completely and utterly fucking trash garbage nigger ass.

No but I gave up on tinkering with native games. I have a mini pc connected to my tv with debian, a bunch of emulators and kodi as a front-end.
I can play basically any game up to the PS3.

lakka is basically retroarch. it's an OS for retroarch
