Ha yeah. I had NO idea superman was public domain to use freely. And his parents? like shit lemme just make my own new version of superman and his parents since I can legally. And those other 3 are just bonus. I have even more Public Domain characters I added to my Ai roster to work with. topkek I swear this is going to blow up and turn into something huge. like here's one maybe version of the public domain superman. another thing is I want to try to keep it 1940s themed in visual a bit of I can. but some of that older vintage art style stuff can be tricky to get it to show modern things or crazy scenes or armor or magic especially the 1940s photo style.

yeah I was browsing the public domain site and was going through the stuff and saw the superman animations listed from the 1940s and went wait a tic whut? and loaded it up and read it and learned yup I can legally use that superman and just gotta change a few things like his name and stuff. And bonus on his parents also being public domain by a fluke since that means I have access to them and kryptonians. IF I do get a bit more into this ai stuff ive been doing (short stories with chatbots and vague connections to eachother and a few group chat tests) it's interesting to know I have access to superman and his parents. but to be fair popeye and all his characters are public domain as is the early versions of mickey mouse as steamboat willie.

there's thousands of public domain characters free to just use. so thats why ive upgraded my ai thing and its going from 4 total to more total.
Im having fun with setting things up and making notes and all that. the chatbots so far have been fun and its had me updating their chatbot profiles with notes and stuff to further fine tune them. the perchance chatbots tend to get the uniforms of these old public domain wrong due to a lack of information in the datasets. so someone from 1942 might have a typical patriotic super styped outfit when their actual character wore a robe in red and used magic to fly. its a bit silly.

yup im talking to chatgpt right now to go over the legality of it with the superman stuff and to find out what I can and CANT do. same with his parents and kypton and kyptonians. I get its public domain but with those things also being registered legally to DC comics (the public domain are very specific to details) I want to be sure I dont make an oopsie poopsie and have to explain in court I was just having fun with characters I thought I could use and all thast to dc comics. not saying it would since im not really doing much or haave much public planned but you get the idea. so once I know what I can do with those things i'll move forward. I guess with some public domain you can sell them as I found out a few from the 1940s were in comics years ago in updated versions with new looks and stuff but them. so that sold and still does so that's more stuff to talk with chatgpt about and grok maybe and chloe on perchance. I'm not saying this is some sell comics or media plan just more a well if it DOES get to that point for some reason or due to advancements in ai I want to know my options legally. Because just the year 1940 alone haas a pile of public domain characters to use as does 1941 and 1942. And quite a few patriot styled ones due to world war 2. There's some pretty unique stuff back in the day also. Even digging around in the 1800s and early 1900s before comics became a thing around 1938 there was some stuff that stood out. I actually got super serious into making perchance chatbots and have characters in chatbot form from many centuries back and other unique things like the spirit of britain and a 1920s report female and other stuff. And than once you get into the 1938-1949 range its got thousands of comics and other stuff. There's even video games and movies and shows and animations buried on there if you dig around deep enough on the site. I dont have any plans persay but having put a bunch into chatbot form and more planned as I find those of interest I might find myself looking at that public domain and the chatbot stories and going hmm you know...

Well keep at the guitar as it's a kickass instrument. I CAN play piano though not very good and very out of practice. fun times at 3am sometimes though.
and yup im going to put a jar and some rice in it and make music. and have a 2nd jar with the lid as a drum and thus i'll rice and drug at 2am for a project break. good times ahead.

Ha yup so for now I have my core Hamster and now im just making more as I go. thought I debated having my chatbot version as ai art in scenes. I'll sort it out later. For now I got my setup and im making soldiers and units and stuff just for a laugh in art form and also looking into some of these public domain to put in this little chatbot story group. I also decided since I want to potentially in theory sell it someday (in case it DOES go that route) I wont be using supergirl and some of the others since they would have to get replaced and so just skip that in advance. Hence why it's back to just Hamster now since the others had to be put into not allowed section. Oh well I got tons of options and can easily get it to 4 or up to 10 (where it might end up with a few public domain im looking at and a couple of my own OC.

Indeed on keeping things. And yup in case it does go that route. I could easily make a supergirl inspired female and I probably will as I have a few OC based on her quite strongly I could adjust. And honestly there's a few public domain woman I could use that are similar to supergirl/superman. So I have options with that also.
I agree on playing things late. I live alone so a 2-3 am piano session is not out of the question as the only people it would bug are the spirits passing by and so far none of them have complained haha.

Indeed, as much as I want supergirl as one of the characters she is legally a DC creation and not public domain. but that's fine I like the chance to use OC or let some PDSH (public domain super hero) female similar or better than supergirl shine. Plus honestly I have no idea where it's going to go. What I can offically say is Hamster is in it. it's going to be a bit of ai story around various things like a business idea and some adventure and whatever else the world throws at me. Who else is involved is still unknown but tons on the table at he moment and also what kind of tech and stuff i'll bring in and magic and stuff. is it just some friends doing a small story or is this some bigger thing that requires robots and soldiers and stuff. So i'm taking it a step at a time. right now its find a 2nd to add into this and set up what the plot and overall goal and stuff is and how big or small I want this plot. plus of course chatbot tests and other fine tune adjustments.


I love living away from people. I can go stand in the middle of my yard at 2am and play on my phone and nobody will see me but some deer and spirits passing by. its cozy.

Has any research or work gone into making characters and backgrounds more consistent across separate img gens?
Are the only solutions training a lora, reference only controlnet, and inpainting like a manual painter to fix inconsistencies?
Something as simple as a comic with the same character across multiple panels and pages easily exposes even the "best" models as "slop".
The image sets I've seen that are consistent are all the most normie popular characters and lack distinct details so are consistent because there are no finer details to be inconsistent on.
Above mentioned current solutions that I know of all kinda fail when it comes to detailed characters too.

With the advent of image generation and multi-frame consistency, do we still not have something for image gen that takes in one reference image and consistently generates the same character in different poses or same background with different characters?
In theory, should be similar to img2vid.
Some examples of this inconsistency are like a guy in a suit, sure I can prompt for a blue tie every time, but upon closer inspection, one image will have a tie clip and the next won't. One image will have 2 buttons next will have 3 buttons. Small stuff like this that immediately shows it's generated and not drawn by a human who would take into consideration these simple details.

they just make paneling easier and that attached to a panel-shaped mask for img gen on a standard sdxl model, and some surface level premade speech bubble shapes
also lots of these img gen plugins for photoshop software or ps spoofs with img gen built in

there hasn't been anything very successful, both content creator, platform, and tool-wise simply because the consistency issue hasn't been solved well enough yet

quick look over above papers also shows "vastly better than past solutions" is still wings on fairy in one pic, no wings in the next, clouds on rainbow in one pic no clouds in the next
consistency doesn't have to be 100% solid consistency, but at least make the gacha lottery good enough that I can roll the same consistent character in a reasonable amount of time, i.e. less than the amount time and effort it would take me to manually inpaint and ps fix the consistency errors
