As always, blame gnome and gtk. Just transition to window manager now. Don’t delay any more.
Anonymous No.105687215 [Report]
leave the binaries alone, freak

it's worse than that, it's native ELF executables
>>105687206
I'm already using DWM but I don't which standalone file manager to use if not this one

if you double click on an ELF executable it will execute, and "Execute" will also be the first item in the menu when you right click on an compiled executable file
I even tried to make executable files get opened with vim as the default opener, to prevent execution, but it doesn't stick
Anonymous No.105687264 [Report] >>105687274 >>105687874
thanks but all this is doing is remove the executable permission for a particular file, this won't prevent the execution of the other ones

and also I don't even have wine installed since I've installed linux on this PC. this is the default settings
Anonymous No.105687313 [Report] >>105687507
hol up. you want the default action for double clicking any elf to not be execute? use case unclear but unironically
Anonymous No.105687429 [Report]
can we instead use this thread to figure why this isnt pixel perfect? top is a png of X root window saved with imagemagick. bottom is live.

yes motherfucker, this is dangerous and there is no use case for that

so is this one of those times when you come up with somerhing, realize its silly, but for some reason just cant say so. so you double down and make outlandish claims digging yourself into a silly hole. the pepe should have given it away deSu.
anyway: nigger that is THE ONLY default use case for double clicking an executable. literally nothing else makes sense in any scenario.
Anonymous No.105687604 [Report]
hol up.. the execute flag isnt even set by default! you (or your compiler) enabled it!

>gaslighting
>mental gymnastics
kill yourself you literal faggot
the only sensible action is to not execute it and do nothing because it's not safe
you might double click it by accident because of muscle memory
Anonymous No.105687874 [Report] >>105687891

sudo chmod -R -x .* /
Anonymous No.105687891 [Report] >>105687905

and how do I execute these executables now?
I don't want to prevent execution, I want to prevent executing anythnig via Thunar
how the fuck is it difficult to understand? or why do I want this?
do you know how many Windows users accidentially executed malware?

by accidentalls double clicking a file they didn't mean to double click? <0.01 %

what's the point of this? why can't you just name it exe like on windows and automatically make it executable? basic design flaws like this is the reason linux is not popular
