Lmao in every call center scam video on youtube where you get to see what they're running it's always Windows 7. These nasty jeets get loads of money from scamming but still do all their operations on e-waste.

I could make a lot of things connect to the internet. I could probably figure out how to post on this website with a Nintendo Wii if I really wanted to. The question becomes is it worth it not can I do it. There's also a reason why I'm a Linux user and not a Windows user. It doesn't matter how shit the hardware is I can probably get up to date Linux running on it and not poorly either. But the machine I am typing on this now is not a decrepit inefficient piece of crap that's going to randomly break down on me and need new parts. I'd keep such computers to dick around with not do important tasks.

k, good luck with those overheating oxidizing 13th and 14th gen CPUs. I'll keep using firefox on my old reliable 4th gen Celeron 2957u

The only reason I bought this is because my old laptop was having overheating issues and had to be taken in for repair multiple times. When you've spent half the cost of a new laptop on parts and repairs it's time to start thinking about if what you're doing actually makes sense. I don't like the idea of forced upgrade cycles and not using something that still works. But I also have shit to do. That means I don't want to be stuck with unreliable garbage.

I'm white actually but I live in a brown country. I'm American and my employers are British. I got them to fund most of the cost of my laptop and when they needed one they asked me for a recommendation and I told them to get the same one. They liked it so much they bought two more of them. The in house IT guy kept recommending them gaming laptops which they don't like.

All personal computers nowadays are hidden behind router, NAT or anything in that matter, therefore russian botnets can't directly hit you with older smb exploits. This is fear-mongering tactic utilised by shitskins from microsoft and linux trannies to bully us into updooting.

I got into a big argument in a previous thread about this with a bunch of hypotheticals. But let me poke that bubble for you with a much more practical example. I connect my computer to many different networks. I don't want to waste my time locking it the fuck down to protect against things that are otherwise beyond my control. I also don't want to deal with software incompatibility issues. I do actual work. I am not some faggot baby duck hobbyist.

The only thing listening that wasn't set up by me is KDE Connect. It might also be a good idea to make deluged only listen on 127.0.0.1. Other than that it looks clean.

Oh, so you are the obsessed securitytroon from the previous thread? Good to know.
>I connect my computer to many different networks.
And all of them still won't make your device accessible to random 13yo kali users on the other side of the world.
>I don't want to waste my time locking it the fuck down to protect against things that are otherwise beyond my control
There is no need for that, since all home networks in somewhat civilised countries are secure by default.
> I also don't want to deal with software incompatibility issues
Pretty much all software that is worth your attention was already made, and is most likely compatible with Windows 7.
>I do actual work.
Obsessing about other people's choices on mongolian basketball weaving forum?
>I am not some faggot baby duck hobbyist.
The term "baby duck" was made to justify making things worse. I am not accepting your nuslopware and your future, unless they can provide something better (they can't, since they work for 20 rupees per day).

Assuming they don't get into the network you're on. I could nmap the network I'm on right now and probably find at least 100 devices. I'd bet at least some are exploitable. Do you think it's a bright idea to bring a Windows 7 device onto such a network? Best practices are best practices for a reason. You should want to turn the unlikely into the improbable or better the impossible. My job isn't security btw but it does involve managing servers that are exposed to the internet. The best way not to have retarded little accidents is to set your shit up the right way. Not having retarded little accidents means more time to dick around on the computer arguing with people like you, less time fixing shit.

Lmao whatever keep running Windows 7 and getting offended when I suggest things like "perhaps you should firewall the shit out of it." It's garbage anyway. Windows was never good. The baby duck analogy is actually good because people like you imprinted on it and refuse to move on no matter how shitty it gets. In 2025 Linux just works. I know what I'm doing but I don't need to. Also if I run nmap it spits out every possible switch. I'm not command line averse, I mean you should have guessed that since I'm not using obsolete Redmond garbage like you lmao. You screech about corporations while keeping their dick firmly lodged in your ass.

You are the only person getting offended here, ledditor.
>It's garbage anyway.
Its not. You are just very tech-illiterate person who has no idea about actual information security.
>Windows
While I dislike modern windows a lot, loonix is even worse, as with modern windows you at least have decent software compatiblity. with linux you have half-baked software and whiny devs who cry how hard it is to develop open sauce software.
>The baby duck analogy is actually good
Its not. I started using computers when XP was still a thing and decided to stay on 7, because it was the last good Windows version.
> In 2025 Linux just works.
Haha, good one. Because of its retarded community, RTFM culture and not a single decent API interface, it will never be nearly as good as windows. Even XP era productivity software still mogs most linux alternatives really hard.
>Also if I run nmap it spits out every possible switch
Congrats, you googled how to scan your corpo network with nmap, now you will totally pwn every single person who doesn't want to run your hobby OS.
>obsolete Redmond garbage
This "obsolete Redmond garbage" still has better software compatibility than all linux distros taken together.
>You screech about corporations while keeping their dick firmly lodged in your ass.
Said the IT guy working for mr. schlomo, proundly worshipping corporations behind his toy os.

>known exploits so they're easy to zombify.
If you had the slightest idea on how computers work, you would know that exploiting a computer that uses EoL Windows version is not different than hacking modern windows, unless you are individually targeted, which is less likely than updooters ITT getting touched by a woman other than their moms.

Turn off automatic overclocking aka turbo clocks, so the chips don't boost themselves to 1.5V whenever there is the most miniscule load on them. There you go, I just made your i9 14999 run inside a 65W TDP.
