I like Fairphone, but nobody's going to be switching to a modular phone unless there's actual standards. Once Fairphone's modules stop being sold, the phone is living on borrowed time just like an average iPhone or Android phone. Once security updates stop coming to it, there's no Linux to switch to for extended support.
Smartphones are cool but they suck hard. Desktop PCs are in a much better state and even laptops have better lifespans due to reaping some of the perks from desktops.

Is it just me, or do phones not matter in adulthood?
Like, when I was in HS it was very important to me what phone someone had, and what phone I had and how people viewed me for it, but as an adult? I don't give a rat's ass if my coworkers have expensive flagship phones or cheap chinkware. I know they can afford any phone they'd like, it's just that they don't care.
As a teen it was different. People with iPhones had a rich person aura, even if it was their dad who bought it for them. I dunno, I can't explain it properly.
In general things mattered more back then. Everything's all the same as an adult. I don't think less or more highly of someone depending on their PC specs, while back in HS it was a constant competition who had the better PC and could run more games or run games better.
