I made a few Omnigen 2 plots with the default workflow to try and figure out if tweaking the cfg values can help getting non-crap outputs out of this model. This is very tentative, but for now my main takeaways are:
- Seed hunting is necessary.
- To edit images without changing too much about them other than what you prompted, lowering text cfg to 3 or lower seems better.

People are saying that Flux Dev loras work with Kontext, but I'm not seeing it. I have a custom NSFW lora and it barely works on Kontext. It's like the lora strength has been reduced to 0.5 or less. I am trying basic pure t2i prompts.

Ok, good to know I'm not crazy or doing something wrong.

In my case, the lora is clearly evoking the concepts, but it's just way too weak and just generally scuffed looking. This could actually be a good thing. The model is clearly derived from the original flux model (i.e. not retrained from scratch) but the weights have significantly diverged. So it could be an improvement in t2i across the board. I'm trying out a bunch of prompts right now to compare t2i Dev vs Kontext side by side.

I checked the weights, and Flux Kontext is architecturally identical to Dev. The model is simply able to handle additional context images concatenated to the inputs.

So then, wouldn't the following merge work?
Chroma + Kontext - Dev.
The Kontext-Dev difference represents the weight delta that encodes being able to understand context images. Then you just apply that delta on top of Chroma. Boom, Chroma Kontext. If anybody does this and it works just credit Anon from 4chan kthx.

I suspect NAG makes chroma work better with lower CFG values like around 3. But NAG doesn't replace CFG, you still need CFG enabled unless you are using DMD2/turbo/etc.

I'll also post comparisons VS NegPip for SDXL, as I already replaced negative prompts and CFG completely with NegPip in my SDXL workflows.

I don't really know what you mean by this. But like I said, Kontext has absolutely zero architecture changes from Dev. The weights are different in a way that the diffusion model knows how to understand additional context images that have been concatenated to the flattened list of image embeddings. But that's it, all the image editing understanding is represented in the weights themselves, there's nothing else special to handle that.

So, starting from the Dev weights, then moving towards the Kontext weights, that high dimensional difference vector encodes everything that gives Kontext its abilities. Why couldn't you apply that delta onto Chroma? That type of shit works with other models. It's just an A + (B - C) merge.

The Flux Kontext model has diverted too far from Flux Dev, so the loras 'work' but they are now shitty. Much like it is when using Flux dev lora on Chroma.

You will need to (re)train new loras for Flux Kontext and Chroma.

No, they generated a ton of synthetic images with botched nipples and people with missing genitalia and trained that into the model, so that the model thinks nipples are supposed to look mutilated, and that their crotches are empty.

This is why you can kind of fix it by training loras with tons of images of topless and genitalia, but you are always fighting against the base model and the results will always be inferior to a base/finetuned model which haven't been deliberately sabotaged.

NAG for Flux bring out a lot more detail... I like it so far (and I haven't even tuned it yet).

Cosmos Predict 2b trains almost as well as Flux (as in, gives final results with a quality similar to Flux), but is 2b parameters, undistilled, and has a permissive license allowing commercial use.

wan is capable if the image is resized, heck wan will even inpaint the padding if you decide to first keep proportions then pad it to size. Wan has a certain aesthetic which it tries to maintain which is why using last frame from previous will over saturate unless you first alter it slightly for example blur.

But yeah wan can do these things because wan is a good model that does inpainting and outpainting properly. also kontext don't seen to have a negative prompt so we can't prompt to exclude bad quality low resolution which is another reason this model is shit.
