human memory isn't perfect either

IIRC, there is a way to tell the kernel to not use certain address ranges, so you don't need to toss those sticks in the bin.

kernel panic I had when I came back from the kitchen that prompted me to run memtest

It looks like there's an entire data line failing.
The 4th digit from the left is off by 8 every time.

>>105715313
Yeah, It continued through test 8 like that until it threw out 538 errors. All the same thing, slightly off from what they're supposed to be. It's always the same kernel panic message too.

Expected and Found are the same number on each line?

They're slightly different, off by one character.

This is the kind of ram, 32GB of the stuff because of my bad tab habit.

yeah, it's always off by 8 you're right. Gues i'll file a warranty claim.

Before you return it or throw it out, try reseating it.

and making sure no dust or hair in port. had a piece of hair that almost cost me a bunch of money

I installed my old ram, ran memtest and it passed. There was some dust in one of the slots, I'll definitely test it more since I'm in no rush with a lifetime warranty.

damn it's still failing at the lowest speed known to man
that sucks bro
Anonymous No.105716309
>>105716299
it's rated for 3200mt/s idk why memtest runs it at 2133
Anonymous No.105716451 >>105717019
>>105716271
yeah with lifetime warranty not even worth the hassle. but if the error persists through multiple sticks of RAM I would inspect the ports further. hair is a bitch because sometimes even with a compressor and port cleaning putty sometimes they cling. you gotta get a flash light and really inspect it from all angles.

old ram sticks are fine in all 4 slots, but both new gskill sticks are fucked regardless of slot.

Interesting, I had a desktop DDR4 kit of gskill go bad last year. It had been running in XMP for about 5 years. I decided to stick to SPD timings with the replacement kit ever since. Did you have memory overclocking enabled?
Anonymous No.105717114 >>105717153
>>105717090
yeah, xmp enabled since I got it. I put it slots 2 and 4 and it passed test 8 now

Yeah you're best off just RMA'ing all 4 sticks. They only need one of the invoices to process the swap if you bought them separately. Looking at the product link it looks like the exact same part number sticks that I had. Maybe this is just a long-term issue with overclocking memory or just this particular model?
Anonymous No.105717165 >>105717184
>>105717153
for some reason it passed now. I had 4 sticks before 2 4gb from ballistix and 2 4gb from corsair. like a year back I bought the new sticks, 2 16gb from gskill.

Looks like the sticks are downclocked to stock speeds. Maybe see if the overclock turned off?
Anonymous No.105717241
>>105717184
it's downclocked in memtest to JEDEC settings, only in memtest though. I think switching slots fixed it, it's weird that all 4 old sticks worked though

Have you tried turning it off and back on?

Works on Windows, try it

With Windows my teledildonics just works and I'm creamed in seconds. Now I'm just sitting there in cum. With Linux, I'm problem solving and using my brain, so my dick stays harder longer. Then, the frustration of having to manually fortify my system otherwise it will vaporize into dust before I can see an AI dragon girl get ripped apart by a forklift operator t-shirt guy in a car. This tedium makes me blow massive loads that splash across my tower... Almost near where the ram slots...

Oh no

Stop RMA user errors you fuck. If the initial seating was bad and he fixed it. This is why you never get RMA when real problem occurs.
