ryzen laptop would have a better screen and performance, a thinkpad is fine if you get a good deal (youtubers ruined these deals) but youll only be playing emulators like ps2/wii and below. id just go for the cheapest 1080p laptop with 16gb of ram

It's down locking due to heat anyway.
Intel is much better at idle / lesser tasks for battery life.

you can emulate anything on MacOS that you can on Windows or Linux. They also can play modern 64bit games just fine.
