Yeah BFL is really screwing themselves over, not hard to see what is going on though, they take venture capital with the promise of making a good return on investment, adds crippling censorship meaning the only interest people have in the model is in conjunction with third party loras.

In any case it's not something what they will pay up front. In my experience it's something what they will potentially pay as stocks, if the employee is still working there after few years.

The case against MJ is just basic copyright law, it has nothing to do with AI per se, it's just that the retards at MJ overtrained their model so hard that it generates practically 1:1 copies of movie stills from movies Disney owns, Disney contacted them to change their model to not make such close copies but again the retards at MJ refused, so now they go to court.

And yes, 99% MJ is going to lose, because if you are to legally use copyrighted material in a piece of work you need to meet a threshold of 'transformation', like for example a collage will most often be considered transformative enough not to run afoul of copyright despite just cutting and arranging pieces of copyright material.

However, there's nothing 'transformative' in training on an image and then spitting out an image that is a 99% 1:1 copy, so they will lose.

You are not meant to do that.
You can just add the subject and the place (background) in the same image (thus same context) and ask it to do whatever.
In this example, I first asked Kontext to remove the background from AOC's image, manually added her to the backroom (you can use Photoshop/Photopea or whatever, it doesn't take long, or ask Kontext itself if you place both images side by side)

Also, something I noticed with Kontext, is that the more complicated the prompt is, the less likely it will be to replicate the likeness, and it's also highly dependent on resolution and aspect ratio
They likely used short instructions for training. This works differently from base Flux, since base Flux tends to produce better images the longer you prompt (it becomes closer to the synthetic captions they used to train the model)

i'm the anon that was talking earlier about training an unslop kontext lora
i think it has potential but my slop vs unslop dataset isn't good enough at the moment, what i tried was just running unslopped images through 0.35 denoise and prompting flux for plastic skin, oversaturated, bokeh, blur etc, then training on the reversed dataset
this is the result after 1500 steps
one of the problems is my slopping method doesn't introduce enough blur so it doesn't learn to unblur
if any anons have any slopping method while retaining the original image composition without too high denoise that'd be helpful
picrel is the first test lora after 1500 steps on only 30 images

i didn't have a lora tag for slop, i just img2img'd unslopped images to make them slopped and try to train context on the reverse order (slopped image as input). maybe i shouldn't be afraid to denoise them more during slopping, idk. it's like 15s/it speed to train so takes ages to experiment.

I'm trying to get kontext to remove the background of an image and I can't get it to work right. Either it does nothing, or it replaces the character with a a sloppified version.
