It's not that videos are bad, regardless of their length. It's that it's solely a passive and somewhat pleasurable activity to silently watch content. If someone was watching movies all day long and did nothing else, it wouldn't change a thing. If we do something interactive it's better. If we do something in which our choices actually matter, it's even better. If we remove forced abstractions that take us out of a normal and natural context, we're reaching peak quality. Then you just need to watch out that you're not making it even worse with disgusting contents.

Short form videos are the only thing on a computer that feels close to doing whippets, as in you genuinely feel like what you did fucked with your brain in a way that leaves you slightly more retarded, permanently. Even more if it's a short form AI slop video, that's like taking a big hit on digital Galaxy Gas.
