idk what that means but i believe ungoogled chromium is (probably) fairly ungoogled. i refuse to use it though because it is still chromium. pick a firefox fork, literally any of them or even firefox. itll be better than chromium

Jhc, literally picrel. Also why do you need to 100% trust a recommendation? It just has to be good enough for you to bother checking that something but never enough to not test their claims. In this case, if you're enticed enough, install ungoogled chromium in a vm/sandbox and whip out whireshark.

With all of the browser threads on this board, I'm surprised that Ungoogled Chromium isn't recommended very often. I'm pretty picky and the only thing about it that I don't like is that it's Chromium. But compared to Firefox, Chrome, Brave, etc it "just werks".

I do think Zen Browser would be worth considering if they allowed for horizontal tabs and extension support.

I used it for while until updates made it worse. No fingerprint protection (came back unique), Flags that block Google trackers are disabled by default, no translation, broken extensions.

Just use Brave or Firefox

I'm using it now, it's supremely based. Chromium, for all its spyware, is a fine browser at its core and a version that strips it down to its bare basics is the most lightweight way to browse the internet at the moment.
