based or another google background using shill of a browser?
>>105731246 (OP)>google background using shill of a browseridk what that means but i believe ungoogled chromium is (probably) fairly ungoogled. i refuse to use it though because it is still chromium. pick a firefox fork, literally any of them or even firefox. itll be better than chromium
For all the future shill posts made by the Bravejeet team, I have one simple recommendation:

I LOVE UNGOOGLED CHROMIUM! UBLOCK ORIGIN FOREVER!! NO AUTO UPDATING EXTENSIONS!!!

UGC is way better than Brave and at time, Librewolf. I use UGC and Librewolf interchangeably. 0 spyware, malware and telemetry pings. UGC is god-tier.

>>105731602Jhc, literally picrel. Also why do you need to 100% trust a recommendation? It just has to be good enough for you to bother checking that something but never enough to not test their claims. In this case, if you're enticed enough, install ungoogled chromium in a vm/sandbox and whip out whireshark.
>>105731246 (OP)This isn't ungoogled chromium, it should have the red icon.

HOW THE FUCK DO I FUCKING UPDATE THIS
IM ON A Version FROM 2021 AND I GET ERRORS FROM SITES TELLING ME I NEED TO UPGRADE BUT I CANT UPDATE IT
sadly as with all chromium forks, manifest v2 will drop support with 139. so it looks like I have to migrate soon
it uses gnushit, so I won't use it.
if you're fine with slop, it's right up your alley.
>>105731301won't ugc have to implement manifest v3 at some point

welp, is there really no avoiding it? Brave is still Chromium so it's only a matter of time, and fuck Firefox
With all of the browser threads on this board, I'm surprised that Ungoogled Chromium isn't recommended very often. I'm pretty picky and the only thing about it that I don't like is that it's Chromium. But compared to Firefox, Chrome, Brave, etc it "just werks".
I do think Zen Browser would be worth considering if they allowed for horizontal tabs and extension support.
It's all using v3 manifest. Google won
>>105731246 (OP)I miss "translate page" feature.
>>105734533>>105736000this is why I switched to librewolf
it just werks
bonus points for lepton photon theme
>>105739299considering your choices are either something chromium-based or firefox-based, and you arbitrarily decide you won't use anything firefox-based: yes, I guess there is no avoiding it for you.
>>105740457I would use lib wolf but it doesnt support all my extensions
i use trannyfox cause netflix doesnt work on ungoogled

>>105731246 (OP)I used it for while until updates made it worse. No fingerprint protection (came back unique), Flags that block Google trackers are disabled by default, no translation, broken extensions.
Just use Brave or Firefox

the latest version takes long as fuck to launch, since the whole new ma manifest bullshit not even ungoogled can save you from bloat
In terms of functionality vs. privacy, it's the best available on balance.
If you dislike chromium because of web monopoly, it obviously can't help you.

why is it that i can't watch anime with this? if it's not fullscreen it plays fine but in fullscreen it drops frames so i have to use ff which does not drop frames in fs (but recently started dropping frames in not fs. . . )

>>105731279It's pretty damn ungoogled.
>>105731246 (OP)I'm using it now, it's supremely based. Chromium, for all its spyware, is a fine browser at its core and a version that strips it down to its bare basics is the most lightweight way to browse the internet at the moment.
