Uh oh, so I had a chat going on with multiple characters (not character cards, characters in one card) in it, and then I wanted to try making a group chat with that character card plus a new one but, I think since it sends a prompt that says "Reply only as the next character [Card name]" it only responds in that character, not the style it had going on thus far where it's more of a narrative with multiple characters. Hmmm... I kinda want two separate styles ongoing, if possible. Original card in narrative form, and the new card in first person.

Maybe I can just rename the original card to something that doesn't implicate it as a person.

I think that's only true when there's confirmation that there WON'T be any additional content that can extrapolate on the plot threads, then it just feels insatisfactory. Keyword, insatisfactory, a mystery doesn't need to be revealed to be satisfactory but you just have to do it properly. JJK is a prime example, it introduced a lot of interesting shit and never extrapolated on them, and never will, admitedly because the author kind of dropped the ball mid-way through and he had a headline to rush to. I blame corporate demands, the big titles all mostly came from passion projects like interactive novels, a massive narrative is probably considered too big of a risk and too long-term of an investment for modern publishers.

Now that you mention it, I do have system prompt toggles for stuff like making bots into squirters or futanari, so adding a sentence or two saying they're 40ft tall or whatever shouldn't be much different.

3.7 is an upgrade in everyway to 3.6, smarter, has soul and writes a good amount.

I never tried Sonnet 4, but by what other anons said, it's more prone to refuse and doesn't have as much soul.

Opus 4 on the other hand is an improvement over 3.7, about 1.5x I'd say. My main model and I don't have any problem with it, but if you're going to pay, it isn't worth the price. Stick to 3.7

Even when you can swipe away a refusal, the refusals themselves happen more often, and over retarded shit like not wanting to hurt canon characters or amplify racial stereotypes. 3.7 did this a little bit more than 3.5 did, 4pus and Sonnet do it a lot.

Honestly, Sonnet 3.6, 3.7. and 4.0 are all sidegrades. None of them are really the "best", it depends on what you want out of a model. By default 3.6 is best if you want snappy conversational RP, 3.7 leans more into detail by default, and 4.0 is driest but also smartest and has the most up-to-date knowledge. I personally still think 3.6 is the best RP model just because it cuts the bullshit unless you prompt it back in, though I get that a lot of people want a model they can ahh ahh mistress to and get 10 paragraphs (which is what 3.7/Opus are good for).

When I first switched to Deepseek from Opus at first I thought it was doing the thing smaller local models do where they just give you a single retarded sentence of output. After some testing I realized that the "shorter" responses are missing Claude's habit of jamming multiple story beats into one response, or waffling summaryslop for the back 50% of the response.
