Happened to me once before with Linux Mint last year. Every time I need to do an update I always do a Timeshift restore point and fortunately that undid the damage. It's a myth that Linux is any more stable than Windows with all the stupid updates all the time.

I honestly have yet to deal with issues caused by updoots and I do so blindly like 2 times a week. I don't even have timeshift installed.

Timeshift saved my ass after this shit black screen'd me. Install it and set it up to make a restore point everyday

I don't see the need yet. If shit actually hits the fan I'll just use the tty, I really doubt its something that is hard to undo in 10 mins. I recall dnf has some rollback function but I have yet to try it

compromising the availability of a resource is one the characteristics of malware (but not exclusive to it). Plus, fosstards/Linux transvestites call anything that collects data to serve personalized ads malware so.

malware has *intent* to do harm
this is just a bad package update happens all the time
Anonymous No.105741875 [Report] >>105742024

Intent doesn't matter.
Anonymous No.105741965 [Report] >>105741974 >>105742039

so if a piece of software steals all your personal files, encrypts your drive, and ends with a pop up message saying "it's a prank bro", it ain't malware because of "intent"? gotcha.

your way of reasoning is very unorthodox almost revolutionary, I'm sure that you will bring change to the people around you, just not in infosec or tech in general.
