How do we save the internet? It's been utter dogshit for the past few years. Generative AI just made it 100x worse.
I was reading through internet archives from around 2010 and everything just seemed so much nicer. People having actual conversations and not just screaming at each other. Way better web design overall.

The thing is that until Facebook gained popularity, crappy things were tolerable and easy to avoid. You had cringe emo websites but you really had to look for them, now thanks to social media everyone is living in the same longhouse

You're all touching on the solution. We can't "go back". Nostalgia is a mental illness. But we can adopt the same spirit they had and make something new that's even better.
But where do we start? We need a trend people can latch onto that's scalable enough to overtake social media.
