Your machine needs to be somewhere remote in the woods, in a Faraday cage, without broadband or wifi cards, boobytrapped and other devices built in the last 27 years should be brought no closer than half a Kilometer.

I kinda miss the X200 should I get something more modern like the Panasonic Tripcode uses? The small form factor and ports remind me of it.

This is a long shot but do any of you have experience with T420 keyboard repairs?

Someone gave me a T420 they spilled a cup of coffee on. When power is plugged in, the power button light stays green but nothing else happens. I've isolated it to a keyboard issue, because if I remove the keyboard and start it, I can at least get to BIOS and a USB keyboard works. Additionally I own an X220 with same keyboard type, and when swapping the defective keyboard into the X220 it does the same thing, lit power button, nothing else works. With the X220's keyboard in the T420, it boots up and keyboard works.

The keyboard was all gunked up from the coffee, so I was hoping it was just a short. I soaked it in hot water and dish detergent for a couple hours, pressed the keys a bunch to work them out, then thoroughly rinsed it with distilled water a few times and let it dry out for a couple days. The thing looks super clean now and keys all work well again, but still the same issue.

I don't want to buy a replacement keyboard because I'm cheap and I like fixing shit. Anyone have suggestions? I was thinking there may still be a short, maybe on the power button pins as I'm assuming there are 2 pins on the ribbon cable that short when you press the power button. But I can't find a pinout of the ribbon cable pins, otherwise I would use a multimeter to check.
