There is something different about this version's sunset versus any other version. The amount of work to get Win11 to stop doing shit that I do not want it to do is almost equal to the amount of work needed to get Linux to do what I want it to do. The tipping point is almost here for me and it might be time to get it over with and just burn the fucking boats on the beach.

For me, it's the fact that everything in Win11 lags now. Everything. Nothing is snappy anymore, the screen occasionally freezes for no reason, the right click menu slowly loads options, it's pretty insane. Like they forced web dev onto an OS, which is utterly unacceptable. Good luck running any serious applications when it's already a slow piece of shit out of the box.

>Linux isn't viable as a desktop OS.
Linux isn't about to become the OS for regular people, but it's picking up more computer guys as Windows continues to alienate them. As the customer base grows to include more relatively normal people, we can expect Linux to become more user-friendly, either through distributions adapting to the needs of their userbase or through the userbase themselves solving problems by creating help content, applications, etc.

The conditions for a mass exodus of Windows users do not currently exist. But if things keep going the way they're going, ten years from now, who knows?

Windows is so bad that it's become a toy OS like Mac OS.
