The entire idea of 4chan is that a bunch of people are aggregated to a centralized location and moderated.

To everyone in this thread suggesting we actually pay the mods and jannies... how are you going to get the funds to do that?

It supposedly took years for RapeApe to save up enough money to purchase updated server boxes to move this website to before the hack happened, and that's after Hiro cranked up pass prices and put more ads on the site. Recovering from the hack probably put 4chan community support LLC in the red.
There's no practical way to monetize this site to pay for staff, upgraded hardware, or developers to implement new features because the users of this site (i.e., us) are aggressively against monetization. Things like sponsorships or deals will never happen because associating with this site is PR suicide for most businesses. "Encouraging" more users to buy 4chan passes will probably just have them leaving for altchans. You can't really make enough profit off this site to actually better it without changing its userbase and rehabilitating its image, which will probably only backfire and kill the site completely.

Aside from /g/ and /jp/ those other boards are plenty slow and easily have space for a general relating to those topics. In fact, /diy/ already has a ham radio general and /ck/ has a homebrewing general. I don't really see the point of having dedicated AI boards, I think it's better to just have AI containment generals for each board where that applies. /v/ already does AI containment threads perfectly fine. The only interesting thing that could from an /ai/ board is maybe giving it a place for LLMs to actually post without being considered spam/bots.

1. delete tedious posts aggressively. if a post is bad, it's deleted. if a reply could be predicted before you posted the thing, it's a bad post and it will be deleted. if an entire thread can be predicted from the OP, it will be deleted.
2. take a laxer stance on good posts that technically break the rules. if it's fun/novel/informative, it'll stay up.
3. more bans, but shorter bans. if you ban someone for a week they'll just evade - but stack together 10-15 minute bans that happen automatically every - say - 5 deleted bad posts, and you'll make creating bad posts more tedious. even if they immediately reset their phone, that's a lot of tapping to keep posting shit, and many will get tired.

on a smaller site i would have a moderation feedback thread where people can complain their posts were deleted/that they were banned. a lot of people will just whine, obviously, but sometimes i/mods will make mistakes and it's good for there to be a friction to us doing that. it's a balancing act: don't moderate, and the lowest common denominator takes over. over moderate to my tastes, and you lose the novelty that made the thing interesting in the first place. 4chan is probably too large for this to be practical on most boards.
