I did actually install gentoo once. My buddy said he wanted to try linux, so I kicked off the install.
Three days later it was stuck in a loop and still compiling software. I told him to read the manual and figure it out.

He's been a Mac user ever since.

Windows is the default operating system. Macbook is the smoothie drinking urbanite professional working in a creative industry or something like that kind of operating system. Linux... any variation of Linux is exclusively reserved for computer-obsessed nerds and/or professionals too deep into their field to appear in normie memes. Unless you're the latter, which most people aren't, you don't need Linux on your work computer. You don't need a Mac either, but it sounds much more glamorous.

Comparing MacOS to Linux is like comparing a Rolex to a G-Shock, or a Tesla to an excavator.
