It can infer motion from source images but if the motion is rare or censored then you need videos. Fully functional image and video models more or less have seen literally everything so generally a Lora is just reawakening data flows that already exist.

If you turn on mid-gen previews, you'll see the changes to the image starting around step 2 or 3 if you made a prompt that the model recognizes. When you hit the built-in content filter, the changes get reverted after those initial steps, which leads to an unaltered image at the end. Loras are a way around this.
