They took upgradable, durable small laptops like X230 away from me. They took good compact <20" monitor away from me. They took small <5" phones away from me. Why do the consumer tech industries try to piss me off so badly?

The netbook market collapsed in the 00s. For some reason, the people who were competing never took into account the old-school IBM design decisions of ten or twelve years earlier. The new generation of netbooks at that time were made of very poor materials and overheated all the time.
