after 20 years that realised most videos are high engagement, low quality turds? or are they just bleeding cash right now and need to start clipping wings
the ad-blocker blocker endeavour seems to suggest the latter, shame.

I could multiply YT's revenue by 10 in an instant, ban videos under 90secs or over 20mins, just show it to Gemini and shadow ban the low quality ones. YT Shorts is ridiculous too and It should not be integrated. They are different things.

This Patreon is where the money is. Something like Are You Garbage is pulling in like 100k(gross) a month from Patreon alone. Im sure that far excedes their youtube income. Popcorn in Bed has a few thousand less subscribers than AYG, but not far off. The smarter reactors with Patreon will be just fine

They should remove monetization altogether.
Also links to patreon and other money raising sites should get you insta-banned.

Let's go back to the internet era where people who uploaded videos on youtube did it to show something cool, not to make money.

Not him and not knowing any of the channels he specified but in my case i was once under the false impression that somewhat somewhere there was a type of "reaction channel" that was more about out-cold commentary and analysis, and while trying to find this unicorn i experienced a good chunk of the manure reaction channel are actually about (at best nigger-tier douche radio host equivalent flinging shit at a screen or pseudointellectual dishonest douches pretending to give a shit, at worst stoners looking at a screen in trance while spouting now and then animal sounds or nonsensical statements), so i ended knowing about the subject inevitably.

I would simply stop Google from paying anyone. Have them have ads to keep the servers running, but no one earns from views but the platform.
Youtube would be full of fun passion projects again and not be 90% โ€œbusinessesโ€

At this point that wouldn't fix anything, it would only increase Patreon begging. Patreon is where the real income is anyway, at least according to every youtuber who talks about such things.

This is probably a good thing for content but a bad thing for the the internet. YouTube was supposed to be for the average person or vlogger being able to share random shit not necessarily for high quality high budget specials on par with Netflix or Apple shows.

If they want to make those they should fund them separately and possibly even have a different app or some sort of separation from the original YouTube. Possibly call it YT+

An average person wanting to share random shit isn't going to make money worth mentioning from Youtube in the first place.
