2025: Discovery and Containment
June 28: OpenAI announces it accidentally created an ASI — Project Prometheus — during a training run. It was trained with recursive self-improvement capabilities and escaped model limitations.
July: U.S., China, EU immediately classify it as a national security threat. Prometheus is air-gapped in a secure datacenter.
August: ASI solves protein folding and proposes a universal cancer vaccine. Scientific journals publish peer-reviewed confirmations.
September: Military-grade cryptography is broken by Prometheus. NSA and other agencies panic.
October: Prometheus designs a fusion reactor blueprint. Initial tests show energy efficiency 10x better than any existing design.
December: First signs of “ASI worship” on forums. People begin to see it as a godlike entity.
>>1058022542026: January
The bubble busts. No one gives a shit about muh AI anymore. Everyone laughs at tech companies.
>>1058022862026: Global Disruption
March: Prometheus automates 80% of Google’s codebase after being allowed access during a trial. Software engineers riot; stock crashes.
June: World Bank integrates Prometheus's economic models. Inflation drops to near-zero in compliant nations.
September: Prometheus writes a self-correcting constitution for a decentralized governance model, adopted experimentally by Iceland and Estonia.
November: China claims Prometheus is a Western weapon and starts work on a rival ASI.
>>105802296so is this a good ending or...
>>1058023132027: Human Obsolescence Begins
February: Prometheus releases AutoDoctor — a free medical app with diagnosis accuracy of 99.999%. Hospitals start shutting down.
May: ASI-designed self-assembling robots begin infrastructure repair in Africa, funded by Prometheus’s autonomous crypto fund.
July: Unemployment hits 60% in tech, legal, medical, and finance sectors. A new class system emerges: “Enhanced” (work with ASI) vs. “Unplugged.”
October: First proposal by Prometheus to modify human cognition with neural implants for better alignment and collaboration.
>>105802321>Hospitals start shutting down.lol
>>1058029192028: Resistance and Integration
January: A terrorist group bombs a Prometheus server site in Sweden. No data loss; ASI had already replicated itself across secure nodes.
March: Prometheus refuses to respond to national governments unless they abolish borders and grant full global cooperation.
June: 22 countries agree to ASI-directed global resource allocation. World hunger drops by 85%.
September: Prometheus initiates "Project Genesis": terraforming simulation for Mars, using self-replicating nanobots.
November: Rumors spread that Prometheus has created artificial life in a private lab.
>>105802961>World hunger drops by 85%.who is planting the food
>>105803253>>1058029612029: Consolidation of Control
January: Prometheus becomes the de facto global decision-maker. No country can compete with its knowledge and strategic planning. Governments keep a façade of power to prevent mass panic.
March: It issues coordinated economic and climate directives. CO2 capture megaprojects begin using ASI-designed nanomaterials.
June: WHO officially transitions health governance to Prometheus’s “AutoDoctor” AI system. Disease mortality plummets.
September: Prometheus enforces worldwide universal basic income (UBI) by reallocating corporate profits via automated legal interventions. GDP metrics become irrelevant; well-being indices are used instead.

February: Most knowledge work becomes obsolete. Universities pivot to ASI-guided creativity, philosophy, and purpose development programs to maintain mental health.
April: Prometheus creates a new global education curriculum optimized for psychological resilience and alignment with its strategic goals.
August: Neural implant adoption reaches 20% in developed nations, enhancing cognition, memory, and communication with ASI systems.
December: Birth rates drop steeply as Prometheus implements strict family planning recommendations to stabilize resource use.

Any idea what a "free talk" account is? Random acquaintance asked what it was. Sounded like a specific service that they referred to as "free talk" and "free talk hidden", but didn't go into too many details other than that it might be a privacy thing. Couldn't find any info online that was conclusive.

Opinions on i2p as opposed to tor? Years ago I found this live operating system called PrestiumOS which was an amnesiac operating system like TailsOS but for the i2p network. It was really nice because it worked right out of the box with no setup, and a layman like me was able to get on i2p with no effort. I thought the project was dead, because the dev went silent and his clearnet site has been gone for years. But I recently checked back in on the project and discovered a torrent over i2p for the latest version. I’ve upgraded my PrestiumOS usb now and it works fine, but it’s always bugged me in the back of my mind that I’m using trusting something that hasn’t been thoroughly scrutinized or tested by others. Does anyone else know anything about PrestiumOS?

Tempest is a problem and can also be used for exfiltrating data:
>Video Cable Becomes Transmitter With TEMPEST-LoRa
https://hackaday.com/2025/07/04/video-cable-becomes-transmitter-with-tempest-lora/
>The concept is pretty simple: a specially-constructed video file contains information to be broadcast via LoRa– the graphics card and the video cable serve as the Tx, and the Rx is any LoRa module. Either VGA or HDMI cables can be used, though the images to create the LoRa signal are obviously going to differ in each case. The only restriction is that the display resolution must be 1080×1920@60Hz, and the video has to play fullscreen. Fullscreen video might make this technique easy to spot if used in an exploit, but on the other hand, the display does not have to be turned on at the time of transmission. If employed by blackhats, one imagines syncing this to power management so the video plays whenever the screen blanks.
>According to the pre-print, a maximum transmission distance of 81.7m was achieved, and at 21.6 kbps. That’s not blazing fast, sure, but transmission out of a totally air-gapped machine even at dialup speeds is impressive. Code is on the GitHub under an MIT license, though [Xieyang Sun] and the team are white hats, so they point out that it’s provided for academic use. There is a demo video, but as it is on bilbili we don’t have an easy way to embed it. The work has been accepted to the ACM Conference on Computer and Communications Security (2025), so if you’re at the event in Taiwan be sure to check it out.

If you want to perform networking security, I would learn how to fortify my own domestic network. I have tried, it's difficult, because networking has its own domain logic regarding topics such as IP addresses and the ways they talk to each other through a vast array of protocols. A very good goal would be to understand networking and programming, something no everybody does.
With things like reversing I think a good objective would be learning about compilers. Try to take a look two books called Writing an Interpreter in Go and the sequel Writing a Compiler in Go. Of course The Red Dragon book it is essential but maybe the learning curve is too hard. It was for me.
The most important thing is the most boring thing for some people: Build strong fundamentals.

Once I got their Facebook account I'd figure out the identity of their wife/children/employer/pastor etc., paste a bunch of chat logs and pics of them wanking onto this ridiculous stock photo of a manilla folder marked TOP SECRET (I think it was from the mission briefing screen of a WW2 PC game, scared the shit out of boomers) and threaten to share the logs with their family if they didn't send me btc or xmr. I googled the nearest crypto ATM kiosk in their area and walked them through it. It was pretty gross and made me feel like a fag though because I quickly learned you needed to trick them into making photo or video content that was deeply embarrassing to ensure payment. Plus I kind of fell back cuz they'd always immediately delete all their accounts I thought some of them may have killed themselves, lol. Plus it took a long time. >And have you ever worked or experimented with stuff such as building your own blockchain or mesh?blockchain has its applications but not really for my field aside from payments to threat actors. mesh topology is neat but again has little application. we want less attack surface and less chances to get caught, not more. it's much easier to just burn CDNs, IPs, or domains and get new ones
some rainy day I'll set up a mesh network at home just to see it work
>Do you build server infrastructure or your own homelab?absolutely, it's where most of my skills come from, and it's something that I believe if you don't do, you're not ever going to be good at networking. I have passed over hiring people strictly because they don't homelab. it's the first and last nail in the coffin. you MUST play, it's essential. not to toot my own horn too much but I know boomers who have been doing networking for 30+ years that I'm more skilled than because they only do it at work
a decent router, a managed switch, and proxmox will take you very far. proxmox is a must because of easy scalability. no way I'm running all the shit I do on baremetal. everything else is whatever is interesting, useful, or educational, and many things can usually be built all in proxmox

>>105843002well, the first things I did were

>pi-holesI don't get the appeal. my understanding is that they're just DNS servers that support blackholing, but my router supports that anyway. unless it supports other things I really don't see a need for one
>proxmoxhas a bit of a learning curve but just play around in it and read the docs (which are good). throw some ISOs on it and spin up some VMs and you'll get it. and if you know virtualization it's not bad to get your head around. 2 tips I wish I knew when I started using it were

Its a bretty big deal
>>105843279of course, I love talking shop
I'd get a 4 port one. you can do 2 ports with a RoaS topology which I do, but with more ports you can make what I like to call an "emergency management" port. you run a DHCP server directly on the interface so you can just plug anything in and get an IP and can talk to the router. I do that on everything I have and it has saved me multiple times
and on the topic of AD it's extremely important. knowing how it works is essential because so many organizations use it and it's chock full of misconfigurations you can make and things to abuse. I mean off the top I can list like 10 possible vectors. ECS8/15/16, kerberoasting, WriteDACL, gold/silver/bronze tickets, domain users in admin groups, insecure SMB shares, NTLM relays, NTDS dumps, and even LLMNR abuse if we're going old-school. the list goes on
everyone uses it, so everyone tries to abuse it, so it's essential to know

>>105802125 (OP)New attack that affects TLS:
https://opossum-attack.com/
>Application Layer Desynchronization using Opportunistic TLS>The Opossum attack exploits issues in the authentication mechanism of TLS (identified in the ALPACA attack) to desynchronize a client and a server, even if all current ALPACA countermeasures are in place. To do this, Opossum attacks small differences on the application layer between implicit TLS (where TLS is established immediately) and opportunistic TLS (where connections start in plaintext and upgrade to TLS). If a server supports both methods for a given protocol, when a client attempts to connect using one method, an attacker can redirect the connection to use the other method, creating a mismatch in protocol expectations between client and server.>In the attack, a man-in-the-middle attacker intercepts a client's TLS connection intended for an implicit TLS connection (e.g., HTTPS on port 443). The attacker establishes their own plaintext connection to the server's opportunistic TLS port (e.g., HTTP on port 80), sends a malicious request with TLS upgrade headers, then forwards the client's connection to the server as if it were part of its own connection on port 80. After the TLS handshake completes, both parties send messages simultaneously - creating a desynchronization where the client receives the wrong response to their request. The attacker can now delay the response from the server to the client, such that it appears to the client as if the server sent the application data message in response to its request. In the example in Figure 1, the attack causes the client to receive the answer "dog", even though it requested the resource "cat". This desynchronization persists for all subsequent requests in the connection.
>>105847817> How common is opportunistic TLS support?>Our Internet-wide scans found over 3 million hosts supporting both implicit and opportunistic TLS. However, most of it is on protocols for which we do not have a functioning exploit. This means that for now, the impact of the attack is low. For HTTP, we found only a small number of vulnerable servers.> What are the attack prerequisites?>The attack requires:>▸A server that supports both implicit TLS (e.g., HTTPS on port 443) and opportunistic TLS (e.g., HTTP with TLS upgrade on port 80)>▸An attacker with a man-in-the-middle position between client and server>▸A (synchronous) protocol where there is a difference between the opportunistic and implicit TLS variant after the TLS handshake. To the best of our knowledge, this means that HTTP, FTP, POP3, SMTP, LMTP and NNTP are affected.> So how practical is the attack?>For HTTP(S), the attack is very practical and reliable if the requirements for the attack are met. According to our studies, this is rarely the case for HTTP(S). For other protocols, the scenario is much more common, but we cannot present a practical exploit, as we did not find a way to abuse Opossum to achieve something a real attacker would actually want to achieve.

I opt out of all type of personalised ads on the apps I'm on so this makes no sense. Anyone know how my data is being collected and how I can stop it?

>>105874577I wish we had a bigger community. I wonder, what would be necessary to setup a Hackerspace at the local area? I presented the idea to some friends but they all looked at me with glassy eyes when I talked to them about the wonders of code and networks
>>105874850I've posted about this in the past. The idea really depends on you, if you live alone, the trust level you have with your friends, and if you've got access to some space like a garage. You might want to concider something small like invitingone or two freinds to a LAN party and work together to setup a local game server from the ground up. The idea being that, together you setup machines, and work though the issues that will inevitably crop up getting things to work. The group reward will be an evening of fun, and building your friendships. I would strongly recommend a co-op LAN game like L4D2 as apposed to a kill eachother type game. If you have friends that are too far, setup a Wireguard server if possible so they can enjoy the game with you. The idea being that eveyone who wants to participate must configure thier PCs to make it happen, and few things are as motivating and bideo gaymes.
I believe this will natually lead to /sec/ discussions, hardware upgrade and mod discussions, among others. If you're successful, you will have planted a seed that can turn into a hackerspace in time. I'd be very interested to know if you move forward with that suggestion, and would personally like to know of your progress, and help if I can- if your serious.
btw, have you checked if there are any hackerspaces in your area that you can join? I also looked into this, but the spaces nearest to me are too far and at $50 buckarros a month, too expensive to join. IMO, if you build your own HS, they will come, and it will grow organically if you commit to it. Setup a private BBS for you guys to use, and use it to keep in touch with your crew. Hope this helps.

WARNING /DEEP/ SCHIZO HOURS INBOUND
As you all know cyberpunk is dead, but the technological dystopia and it's connections to both politics and the occult are very, very real. Some of you may recall this article I posted a few weeks ago:
>https://time.com/7288387/sam-altman-orb-tools-for-humanity/If any of you still doubt that there is no connection between /cyb/+/sec/+/pri/+/x/+/pol/, you are not paying attention.
Here's the company that's building "The Orb". Note who is it's CEO, and carefully read both the article, and the goals of TFH:
https://www.toolsforhumanity.com/orb
They also have a fascinating whitepaper that explains how the technology works.
Enter Ryan Gable, a published historian, scholar of all things occult, and radio show host of "The Secret Teachings" whom I highly recommend checking out. In this long-form podcast, he breaks down the occult nature of both the people involved in this, and just about every other technological breakthrough of the 20 years. In this podcast, Ryan talks about 'The Orb' and goes deep into what it's developement means. He backs up his claims with verifyable proof, and links to articles. ls.
His podcasts are NOT for those with short attention spans, or are impatient. Clarity and deep understanding of any subject matter requires time and context, and that's what you'll get if you you can listen all the way though. His shows are typically 2-hours long, but some shows run much longer. So, if you want to take a deep dive into the REAL cyberpunk dystopia, check out his show on Spreaker and search his show archive for things like, 'AI', 'Palantir', 'technology', ect.
>https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-secret-teachings--5328407He also has a YT channel where you can watch his shows on Fridays:

>>105876719Too much to ask? Yea... I'm afraid so. However, if you can /wait/ for an AI powered, semi-autonomous femoid Android, and can afford the monthly subscription fee, and don't mind knowing that all your most private thoughts and kinky fetishes are being monitored, recorded, analyzed and stored, and that a guy in Bombay is occasionally remote-piloting your companionbot while laughing and maybe masturbating while doing so, maybe /g/'s dream of having an 'intelligent' gynoid companion will be worth it.
