Not really, I think the OS looking good as well as feeling good to use is a big factor. My feeling is that there are two types of apple users, those who solve their problem by throwing money at it (apples favorite type of customer) and those who like computing and aesthetics.

For the second group theres also the thrill of "figuring how to run it on your system" that you get with linux, without the "my system implodes at random" risk that is present on the most meaningful distributions. Apple also prides itself on making an operating system that "doesn't get in your way" which is how they justify not giving you any time wasting customization options, drag and drop installations (that suck ass), etc. Having a system that has a feeling that it "takes care fo you" feels good, even if DIY fags whant you to think otherwise.

My biggest gripe is that "figuring out how to run it" almost always ends on some payment shit u gotta do to either apple or some shiteating dev who charges you because "apple customers are rich" o algo, whereas in linux there is never a solution that involves money (or if there is, someone will make their alternative for free). If its financed by a company it's fine but theres rarely a point on buying a 2000 dollar machine just to pay 10 usd supscriptions on every single software that you might use.

Thanks but what's the alternative big guy, apple laptops have good battery, no fans (or at least not at the bottom which is the most retarded hardware decision for a laptop that still somehow gets made) good enough cpu and gpu and good screens as well as very optimized os for their hardware (low ram usage, good dpi scaling and text rendering). No other laptop can compete with them and they know that, thats how they rope you into their payment pyramid scheme but they are still objectively good machines with no competitors at the same price point.

A desktop and a laptop serve fundamentally different porpuses, they are not interchangable.

Apple says they excel in dislpay fonrts wtv, but is there any serious argument to say that font rendering isn't a big part of an os experience? or battery life? or not blocking the only intake of your machine just because you put it on your lap? these are fundamental parts of using a laptop that apple got right and they market themselves for it, and it's up to us to believe if it's true and it's hard to argue against it.

90% of what you do in a computer is read and write, if my fonts are easily readable regardless of resultion, have proper screen adjusted scaling, and don't strain my eyes I'd need that on my laptop. Otherwise i'm just fucking my vision over

What's the point of having a laptop if you can only meaningfully use it when you have internet connection? that's not mobile anymore unless you also pay for a portable router or a sim card? and "only using it where there's wifi" limits what you can do with a machine thats designed to be mobile.
