When will the time come when linux usage is so great that companies and game devs will have no choice but to allow it to work with anticheat?

Even pewdiepie shilled linux and people are switching left and right, it just werks. Corectrl and mangohud is better in every way to msi afterburner. Linux drivers are 100x better than windows for AMD which is the only good hardware.

Games like apex legends are going to regret not allowing linux users to play they are just excluding themselves.

Why would you play a game with a kernel level anti cheat?
One it's coded like garbage, their source codes leak all the time, they are hacked constantly they are usually owned by Chinese.
Then there's the issue of it simply ruining your 1% lows and giving you inconsistent fps even on high end hardware, same happens with the DRM solutions on new single player games.

Probably never, unless Valve or microshit somehow makes those anti-cheat work without kernel level access. Think about like this: Linux usershare is now roughly 5% and Burgerland and 5.8% in Europe, impressive growth for sure. But Macs are about 25% in Burgerland and 15% in Europe and they also can't run those games for the same reason. Just use gforce now, get a console, or just don't play those games.

This desu. I use "Linux" for gaming, but I don't even bother trying to run games natively anymore. I use Kodi as a front end for a bunch of emulators, basically anything up to the PS3 era + Minecraft and a few exceptions from Steam.

Been saying I will switch to linux for years and that I will actually truly do it when windows 10 isn't usable anymore.
Been getting more and more linux experience since my home server is running proxmox with a bunch of debian and alpine vms and containers, as well as dicking around with ubuntu vms at work for machine learning shit and deployment agents.
The time is nigh. Soon I will ditch wangblows forever.
