Art and AI
Seriously asking, but what's the point in creative pursuits like art and writing if AI can just do them nearly as well as the top artists/writers? I think it sounds sad to waste years on this stuff only to be replaced by even a basic prompt. And it's not as if you're impressing anyone doing this either, normies don't care either way about their media.

If it was before the price hikes, then yeah sure. Even then, it's not analogous. Because the AI is more like a chef that can whip up what you want.

Yeah eventually there will only be slop. The worst part is slop will continue to get worse because they train their checkpoints on slop. There will be no incentive for artists to try new things. It's pony face from here on.

Art is an expression of the creator.
Art made by AI still has a creator who at minimum is selecting the outputs to their liking, but in most cases put a lot of work into getting what they want.
This is orders of magnitude more artistic than someone being paid to produce what they are told. These are the ones whining, the ones who were never artists to begin with but social parasites.

Prompting scratches the same itch as gambling. It's a completely different chemical release to improving at a discipline or creating something. But I think when you do both you eventually realize how fruitless genning is. You're always ultimately limited by your checkpoint and LORAs are lipstick on a pig.

I'm currently experimenting with Flux trying to generate an image of a dystopian sci-fi scene with two protagonist survivors hiding from supersoldiers with exoskeletons and rifles looking for them and it keeps mixing everything up. Sometimes it puts the survivors in the soldier uniforms holding the rifles and even puts them in plain view of the soldiers which isn't what I want. I keep modifying and expanding on the prompt but it still mixes things up.

I don't feel so much in control with this, it feels like I'm subject to the whims of random chance.

There's a level of control with human art that you can't get with AI image generation. When I'm using Blender, I'm in full control of the scene. I can choose what objects go where, I can choose exactly where the sunlight will shine, I can decide exactly where the camera is. If I want to switch the camera angle without changing anything else and preserving the consistency of the scene, I can do that.

Satisfaction.
If it's for profit or whatever then sure, go generate it.
To me creating things is about the satisfaction of seeing what I imagined come to life through my own efforts, through my own hands.
Frivolous shit like fap material that you need constant novelty for is perfectly suited to be generated by AI.
Anything I care about like a long cherished fantasy/daydream world coming to life? I'd do it myself.

At the end of the day it's slop and you know if no matter how many times you press the button or how good it is.
It's like a tranny trying to pass.
It might at first glance, but instincts reveal the truth.
You will form no attachments to your creation like this, no pride, no true joy. Dopamine? Sure. Again, that's what it is best at.

Not all things you do in life are for some utilitarian purpose anon, but then again saying this to a /g/ autist is a waste.
