can I now, in the year of our lord 2025, finally use this to generate consistent spritesheets? I've been waiting for years
Anonymous No.105806474
>>105806448
I've thought about that before but I can only think of very workflow-specific approaches, where yes it would be possible but it would be less generalized and inflexible.

For example you could use controlnet on an existing set of sprites and have it replace them with your new sprites. That's an inflexible technique because it requires you use someone else's spritesheet as a basis.

This is a dumb question but I am trying to get started with video gen through the guide. I am seeing that 480p and 720p versions of WAN are the same size. Does this mean they use same VRAM? Does 720p just take longer or does it also use more VRAM?
Anonymous No.105807262
Anonymous No.105807298 >>105807311

720p is trained at a higher resolution, so even though they are the same size, obviously you will get better results running it at 1280x720, but it will takes much more vram and time
You CAN run the 720p model at 848 x 480, and it won't change much in vram usage, but since it wasn't trained for this size, you will get worse results than the 480p model at the same resolution

Sdg general used to be the only one but it's controlled by a group of mentally ill people who coordinate outside of the thread and their threads are littered with worthless avatar posting. They could post their same worthless stuff ("good morning", "good night", 100th variation of a small furry animal playing chess on the moon or whatever) in their discord channel but they intentionally do it in the thread for attention that they only really get from the other idiots in their discord channel anyway. It got to the point that the /hdg/ (on the hentai board) thread became a better place for discussing the tech than the thread on /g/ before the split happened.

I personally made posts trying to discuss Lora training settings back when PonyXL was new in those threads and got shit on for it by members from that clique.

Here's hoping AceStep keeps improving, one of the devs claimed that they would reach current Suno / Udio quality locally, if it comes anywhere near that I'll be fully satisfied.

Comfy remembered that OMI existed (probably after my post kek >>105788086) and decided to seethe over InvokeAI again. Now it's a battle of who slops SaaS schlong harder while pretending to be true heroes of open source. On one hand we have ComfyUI, who sold out to API nodes but still does the bare minimum of implementing new local models (albeit poorly). On the other we have the literal who of InvokeAI who failed to implement basic support for any model yet still believe they can build a true open-source foundational model. Who wins? A1111, Forge, and Tranistudio of course!

Still trying to get started with video diffusion based on the rentry. I can't get image to image working yet, I am probably going to make a wall of text post about it tomorrow if that ends up still being the case but I am working with t2v now and I have a question about fp16 accumulation aka "--fast".
I have a 3060, so it is slow as shit and despite doing this for hours I haven't experimented comprehensively yet. BUT literally in the first instance of testing --fast I encountered major quality drop. The coherency of the waves in the video, especially the second wave drops massively and very noticeably when I got fp16 optimization enabled. It is only giving circa 10% performance boost (compared to sage attention which is around 30% with little quality loss, at least in this instance)
My question is this, is it usually like this or did I just get unlucky? Because to me this much degradation doesn't seem worth it for 10% faster gens, even in my lower end rig.

He is correct that InvokeAI is pure propriety shilling shit masquerading with 'our crippled version is open source'.

But Comfy is not all that much better, although Comfy itself is fully open source unlike Invoke. ComfyAnon tries to control the open ecostystem and REALLY wants to kill them competition, so hearing him complain that he is being targeted by InvokeAI is hilarious.

The sad thing is, on a technical level Comfy is good, but could be SO MUCH BETTER, there's so much basic functionality you need to install third-party plugin nodes for that it makes the whole ecosystem incredibly volatile, and of course Comfyanon is a piece of shit on a personal level.

Beggars can't be choosers though, and between InvokeAI and Comfy, it's not even a discussion, Invoke is only somewhat open because they have to due to competition, if it ever goes away then it goes 110% proprietary. Fuck'em.

What relevant open source model isn't implemented? Yes, the chroma implementation is technically wrong because of a slight difference of how the text embeddings are computed. He should fix it. But 99% of the time it doesn't matter, and if you care that much just use the Chroma custom nodes which is what I do.
Anonymous No.105810086 >>105810094 >>105810113

Well, in his defence, I can't think of a single open model of any use that isn't supported. The Chroma debacle was bad though.

As long as the open models are well supported, I don't really care, and so far, with the exception of the Chroma crap, it's been good. Only other inference app I know of that supports Chroma is Forge, and that was added like a month ago.
