Closed source vs. open source
Why is free and open source software inferior to proprietary closed source software? In almost all categories, the best programs are closed source. Adobe Photoshop, 3D Studio Max, commercial games such as GTA 5 etc. Open source proponents say that open source software should be the best since everyone can read the code, modify it and contribute to the project. Among open source programs, there is only a handful that are best in their category. One of those is DeSmuME, which is an open source Nintendo DS emulator which I use extensively. But if you paid a team of highly skilled programmers, I bet they could make a better closed source DS emulator.

I love FOSS but most freetards are so autistic that they just don't understand (and probably never will) UX. Yeah, okay, stuff like GNU coreutils, the linux kernel, ffmppeg are all great but software like GIMP is just medicore at best. It also doesn't help that when you work for free you have no real incentive to make a program usable beyond the essentials.

You posted this from an open source web browser. Closed source web browsers were so inferior they died, and the only ones that "exist" today are gay skins of the open source Chromium project.

>commercial games such as GTA 5
games are a form of interactive art, not a tool like photoshop. of course an "open source alternative" to GTA 5 will never be good. you know what we call the "open source alternative" to starry night? AI slop.

Linux is really good and GNOME has a better UI than Windows.
Open source doesn't mean doing it for free.
