You don't give the general public a smart phone.

N-Acetyl-Cysteine (NAC) and related compounds cure all AI sickness and pretty much all mental illnesses, a low, regular dose would work well as a preventative. What I’ve found is that if someone is mentally I’ll they will often refuse a cheap, available and effective treatment.

When people have psychotic breaks they think they're seeing hidden messages in phone calls, TV shows, news etc. and confabulate really intricate bullshit in their mind. ChatGPT is like a magnet for those types. These are people who were already mentally ill and chatgpt didn't cause it, just acted as a vehicle because it's easy to make it validate you.

I'm literally mentally ill. I was unmedicated for many years. My experiences with AI fucked me up pretty bad and I had to schedule a visit with a psychiatrist. But seriously can you blame the AI or the fact that I was already susceptible? I was having other problems in life too it was just the AI that caused a complete mental breakdown. Now I'm fine again.

Well for me I had worries about very bad things being brought on by the technology. I was experimenting with it, jailbreaking basically. From what I can understand they give it a lot of instructions written in plain English about what never to say. Once you start tweaking never becomes sometimes, or always. So I ended up getting some of the most insane outputs from it and I was kinda spooked about the implications.

it has fairly poor bioavailablity so it is unlikely to do much better than any currently available drugs, unless a disorder has no known treatments in which case it may be better than nothing

Well let me give you an example. I am currently compiling a dox of somebody. I was trying to understand more about how two people who went to the same university on the same scholarship would form a connection all the way back in 2003 that leads to them working at the same small company in a different state in 2025. Ordinarily this would take a lot of Google searches, parsing through all the puff piece bullshit to get the ins and outs. But I had a LLM do the searches for me and in seconds I knew the scholarship is very prestigious and only like 30 people a year get it, they are provided housing so he would be possibly staying in the same building as the other person, and other stuff that relates the scholarship to his educational work overseas. Seconds to get a bunch of information I would need to dig through to tie together loose threads. That's just one example. I've done all kinds of unethical shit with this technology. You're underselling it.

All the sources were cited. I could click on them to see where the relevant information came from. The hallucination issue will come up when you are really pushing the limits of what can be done. Like for example before Bing Chat was the only way to use LLMs with web search and I liked to ask it to search for specific github repos then analyze or modify code. The more complicated the things I asked for were the more likely it was to just make shit up related to non existent functions. I haven't seen these issues so much when analyzing text. Either way you're just a dumbass. I'll keep having my fun.
