>>105808055 That isn't the problem. The problem is AI makes innane comments all through the code like a breadcrumb trail for itself. It's not actual documentation. >>105808016 (OP) >remove You can't remove it, because then the AI can't modify the code effectively later. This is your new life as a developer. You will only read 3rd grade code comments and correct jeet level AI code full of bugs. You will never have another greenfield project. You will never write code yourself anymore. You are 100% read slop, debug slop.

>>105808016 (OP) >>Company's codebase is getting more and more full of AI comments that lazy devs don't even bother to remove good, the worse the codebase, the easier the whole company is to compete with. 99% of the business have no moat
>>105808016 (OP) Code shouldn't have any comments at all. If you're not smart enough to know what the code does by looking at it you're not smart enough to code.
>>105811208 If AI has taught me anything it's that normgroids are completely fine with slop. Software will continue to get worse and companies that shovel the most slop slurp the biggest reward

>>105811279 Basically true, only exception is at the absolute top of a function so you can generate docs easier. AI leaves useless comments above very apparent shit that just takes up vertical space.

>>105811279 nah that's long, I shouldn't have to parse every line of code, sometimes I just want to search comments to find what lines I want to edit. It's not that I am unable to read code, it's just that I can read natural English language easier, and if you can summarise a parcel of code with a comment, it speeds up my workflow

I've always written lots of comments in my own solo work but when I look at it now at first glance it looks like something jeetGPT would do. Should I just delete all comments?

I love how all of /g/ acts like theyโre the code correctors who ever use AI themselves lmfao. Most of you are unemployed
