Never done it. My system works just fine so why would I update BIOS and risk it fucking something up?

so your motherboard will not give 2 volts to your cpu instead of 1.3

A few days ago. I rebuilt an old computer and updated to the latest bios while at it.

a few months ago, and its a terrifying experience on AM5 motherboards with MSI
they put our more BIOS updates a month that I put out turds and my turds are more stable.

these latest gen CPUs sure are fun arent they?
now that the board makers and the CPU makers dont share information until the last second

it is not the user who increases the voltage. It is the bios thinking that it should send 2 Volts ore more to the cpu instead of the usual 1.2 or something due to a bug

it looks like it is about 2 years ago
everything worked after that so I haven't touched it

Over a year ago I guess, I don't remember exactly when. Everything works nicely with the current BIOS so I haven't really bothered since.

No clue, but I'm not an updooter. I don't fix what isn't broken.

I think I updated to the latest BIOS when I built my current PC. That was in 2021.

I updated it on an old laptop and now I get a shitload of errors when I boot up Debian lol. I had to turn the shit off to make the TTY usable otherwise it would just spam errors the entire time until I launched x server. I guess the moral of the story is to never update anything ever under any circumstances.
