Why did Windows 10 get so much hate in 2015?

It was bad just like XP, Vista, 7 and 8.

Because it didn't add anything that couldn't have been incorporated into a win7 update but instead was shipped as a "new" operating system with a shitton of jeetware preinstalled because the shareholders need something to make shekels off of

Windows 10... Isn't that bad. God forbid my memory reminding me of vista and 8 (not 8.1).

Early versions (1507 & 1511) were pretty bad compared to 1607+

You guys have short memories. It sucked because it had forced automatic updates that were unintuitive to disable (a normal person doesn't know what the fuck a GPO is), and it had the spying telemetry bullshit. Also, the flat design is garbage compared to the 2000s Aero design, it came bundled with a ton of bloatware, and there were no meaningful new features that compelled you to switch. It's only feature was that it was "new" so you better updoot.

It was really buggy back then, after a few years it became solid but still not good as Windows 7 and below.

It was primarily the forced upgrades with no opt out that immediately left a bad taste in everyone's mouths. It was so bad that Microsoft was handily losing lawsuits over the matter.

A lot of people lost data or straight up had their computer shitt he bed from this lol. Some of the videos are still up on youtube too. I still remember back in the day trying to do a full distro upgrade on debian and what a disaster it was, now imagine you go to bed and wake up to your windows PC automatically doing it with no warning. And it fails. And now your PC won't boot.

That's basically worst case scenario for a normie.

Because MS was pushing very, very hard, nigh-on forcing the upgrade on people and to nobody's surprise this move was widely hated. Also people who ended up with W10 Home or people who did have W10 Pro but didn't know how to configure group policy shit had to deal with forced updates including forced PC restarts when they wanted to use it for something, which of course also lead to widespread hate.

i stopped using it because my at the time brand new system with r5 1600x and rx 570 didnt work with broken amd gpu driver and the ads were unacceptable to me no matter where they are. I have been using arch from 2017
