Is there a reason to use anything else? Even Mint defaults to it despite not using GNOME.
>But I need my special features and drawable pixels!
It's a fucking terminal. It exists solely to emulate a TTY Linux session within a desktop.

1) doesn't tie you to anything
2) you can manage your work into different sessions, which have different windows (i.e: "tabs") which have a pane, which can be split into multiple panes and rearranged.
3) detaching is as easy as Ctrl+b => d
4) can attach to sessions from other terminals

For example, I usually have 3 projects at any given time: work and two apps I'm working on as possible SaaS products, so I have 3 sessions running.

Often different tabs, one for neovim, another for general term work, another for running in a single tab, multipane all the containers with logs, etc.

Also, very nice to theme up and has a nice plugin ecosystem.

The tmux session keeps running even if you get disconnected from the server while sshing into it. You can simply reconnect to the server, start up tmux and your programs haven't been interrupted. You also don't need more ssh connections. It's very good but the default shortcuts are very bad as with most freetard programs.

Cry more. We are already in the process of forcing applications like Firefox, LibreOffice, Inkscape, Lutris, GIMP and more to libadwaita. We and our GNOMEies are in the issue trackers of these projects and we have convinced all their developers that Libadwaita is superior. Libadwaita domination, you dumbass. This is not a game or hobby for us. We are not playing around here. This is a war and we want complete domination over desktop Linux. GNOME is the already the standard right now but we won't rest until it is the only viable option left. We will force you KDE fags to fuck off somewhere else. This is OUR ecosystem. It seems people don't understand this so let explain.

Defaults serve two purposes.

>To be used as is
>Categorical suggestions for you to find and use alternatives

What that means is that, if you prefer, you can use the default app... OR, get this... you can install an alternative.

Hope that helps.

The only gtk application i have left is Firefox.
And they dont even use gtk for ui elements, but hook their own shit on top of it.
I would also be very glad to finally remove firefox.

And the funny thing is, i didnt even do this delibetately. Its just that all good applications happen to... not use gtk

Firefox 140 has taken the first steps towards porting to GTK4 and hardcoding libadwaita stuff.
>Simplifies eventually porting to GTK 4, which doesn't support native widget drawing anyways.
>The "non-native" Firefox UI buttons and so on look more "native" in a GTK environment than the current GTK3 buttons with themes like Adwaita. (Breeze regresses a bit, which is a bit unfortunate but...)
Plus there is a guy named Jens Perrson who has made a lot of progress on the GTK4 port already. Here https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1701123
And like >>105815127 mentioned, they are planning to hardcode libadwaita colors and theming stuff into the browser. It would probably still be possible to change everything using userChrome CSS hacks but expect a huge meltdown and many "Fuck, Firefox broke again" threads on /g/ in the near future. It is sad that nobody seems to give a flying fuck about KDE anymore.

Yes, good. Word of advice, never EVER fall for KDE shilling. KDE fags are even worse than Brave scammers when it comes to shilling on /g/. A company called "Trolltech" (Yes, that is what it is literally called. I'm not joking) pays them $10 per post everytime they shill Qt and KDE.

Just stick with GTK and GNOME as long as you are using Linux. They are the good guys in all of this.
