With enough monitor arms, I imagine some kind of 6 monitor 1080p setup is possible (they're all 23" or 24")?

So I've been thinking, for multi tasking on PC (full screen youtube video / gaming / web-browsing / some other info on a screen), possibly even external source home consoles (I'm thinking consoles could be used on top row monitor(s), what it the ultimate setup? The downside of having multiple individual monitors, is that some programs like photo, video or audio editing, wont benefit from being able to resize entire program into that physical dimension that several monitors cover, while on a very large single monitor, you can do that.

So for some kind of photo/video/audio editing program usage, web browsers full screen videos open (to hide the website UI and maximize video size), gaming on PC, gaming on external source (retro or modern consoles, I have both).. what monitor setup is best?

1x some very large Samsung 57" 7680x2160 monitor or something
3x 27" 1440p monitors (might be doable, have tried, could be impossible)
2" 32" 4k monitors
6x 1080p monitors (3+3)

I'm thinking external sources being virtualized on the large Samsung might provide problems, but there might be some software that might be able to virtualize it somehow (DisplayFusion), so I can use my PC normally while a portion of screen is being used for say external game console? I have no idea because I haven't seen it done, but if this is possible, this monitor would basically have all the "goods" and none of the "downsides" (not being able to resize one program into very, very large area). Anyone got experience if I can hook some xbox or switch to big monitor, and then I can watch my game on same screen, while I'm using PC simultaneously? So 2 inputs working at the same time, is that possible? More than 1 external input (so total of 3 overall inputs) on 1 large display, would probably be amazing if it's possible in any way, but even 1 extra might be good enough for me.

>2" 32"
Did you mean: ``2x 32"'' or 2" bezel on 32"(which I doubt but your image and post make it a possibility)?

I use 3x 27" 1440p right now but will upgrade to 3x 32" 4k once oled burn in and prices are better.
I combine my personal and work desk so 3 monitors is kinda tight but ideally I would have two separate 3 monitor setups.
The biggest downsides to >4 screens is power usage not just with the screens but with dual gpu too. Not to mention the heat getting pumped out in such a small area that you need to actively cool with AC.
>Anyone got experience if I can hook some xbox or switch to big monitor, and then I can watch my game on same screen, while I'm using PC simultaneously
Some monitors come with PIP built in so you can kinda set something up like that.

I have been mocked for this, but I don't think going above 1080p @32" is called for.
I would suggest 6x 1080p @32" or 27" if you are sitting closer.

I have been through 20-30-20 plp, 34 inch ww, 42 inch oled tv, and for me the 32 inch 240/480 oled from lg that has good text rendering is end game. Burn in is fake. I have played hundreds of hours of poe 2 and keep the taskbar shown with no issues.

I honestly prefer one super-ultrawide. It covers my whole view. If I put anything outside of my view and I'll often just forget it's there.

>inb4 16" chinky portable monitor

I completely forgot that one other benefit of having one super-ultrawide is not only the productive/editing programs, but I could probably also enjoy watching anime from it

But fr and related to the topic, i think having a medium-large really good monitor and then two normal monitors on each side but rotated 90 degrees clockwise is a pretty ideal setup.

But right now i just have two 25in monitors, one 360hz the other 244hz

If all your screens are the same you're doing it wrong. You will always be focusing on one thing in particular, and that should be front and centre and on the largest and highest quality screen. A stream you're watching while you do something else can and should be relegated to a smaller screen on the side. A guide or a Discord server or a text-based feed fits nicely on a vertical monitor. Something that doesn't need regular attention paid to it like your playlist can display on a small screen off in the corner. If you try to put everything on an identically sized and oriented screen, the irrelevant things will take up too much space and the important things will be starved out. The same applies if you do everything on regions of a massive screen.
