I am going on a vacation, but my PC is stationary and I'll still have to work in some capacity.

Can I just rent a laptop for the duration of my travel?? How and where?

Buy a chromebook and remote in. If you can't get RDP/X over ssh to work you can probably at least get AnyDesk to work.

Setup PoE, WoL with a smart device that can trigger those and google remote desktop (you can remote in from the login screen)
If you don't have a laptop get a bluetooth keyboard to work from a phone/tablet, if you're not even willing to spend the bare minimum for these kind of things why are you even going away on vacation
