Carmack told everyone they should be using it to complete as many daily tasks as possible if that's what they actually wanted consumers to do. Instead they all built their shitty apps using normal setups to prove to HR they did something on paper, so he said fuck this and left. They wouldn't even attend VR meetings when virtual workspaces were one of the primary use cases.
