As in, I went from MPlayer to mplayer2 to MPV, because VLC was always a meme in Linux.
VLC was/is only big among wintards who need protection from the mental limitation of both their systems and their selves. They use reasoning like "it just works" when describing products, not realizing that "working" is supposed to be the most minimal of requirements.
This is why I also identify with the voices that call for dropping winshit support from projects like MPV, because their argument that continually attempting to satisfy retards is not a good idea, is a sound argument.
