I'm graduating soon and yeah while this is true is it my fault that the boomers taught us nothing in class?
anyway it's just stats for one country (most likely the US, right) and it doesn't show the whole picture (yes I'm coping rn)

It has very little to do with you not being taught anything in class, the job market is just oversaturated because of layoffs, immigration/outsourcing, and AI replacing entry-level programming jobs. You're going to be competing for jobs with people who have much more experience and knowledge then you, or are willing to fake their experience and knowledge.
>so are you going to elaborate any further or you will just leave us with that
Science refers to studying natural phenomena through empirical study, i.e. repeatable observation and experiments.
Computer "Science" is rather a subset of mathematics/logic, everything in it can be known "a priori" excluding interfacing with hardware.

nobody said it would be easy, if I don't ultimately find the job I was studying for which means I kinda wasted 5 years for nothing then fuck it, not the end of the world
anyway at this point the argument becomes whether math is actually a science or not, some colleges put math in natural sciences where biology and physics belong and so on

Who cares about fault? Can you go tell that to an interviewer and they'll be all understanding and give you a job?
You're retarded if you think college is really suppose to teach you everything.
At the end of the day, you are your only advocate. You should be teaching yourself since you are the only person that really cares if you learn all this stuff or not (hopefully you care). You're too gullible if you actually think the college and all it's professors want you, specifically you, to actually learn. They want money, they get it by propping up this song and dance to make people think it's actually worth the time and effort.

those guys who you thought were assholes that did fuck all on every group project and left you to do it yet passed the class anyway? you should've been them. college is fucking bullshit, especially when you're there for a programming job (which changes into something new every 4 years... i did java and php during my course... FUCKING PHP). do the bare minimum to tick the stupid certificate off your list while deep-diving into some autistic niche interest you have with the rest of your time. college was to get your retard boomer parents off your back while you tinker. boomers had it easy because they were the new generation immediately after a war that decimated the population. you don't get to live their cushy life, unfortunately.

I am sorry to hear that. I am not trying to tell you your business but i wonder if you could try expanding your net a little. For example I graduated with a degree in "business- information systems" which is like an IT degree and I applied to as many "analyst" jobs as i could find and after months i got a remote role as a "pricing analyst". Some industries that are big but "unsexy" like stuff related to transportation has a high average age and can be looking for people who are capable of being wizards in Excel and/or Tableau for example. If your time in college gave you any such skills

I think I expanded my net a bit too much and got into a devops job. I quite like it, so I am not complaining, I just pointed out how ridiculous the name of the degree stands next to Bachelor of Science
