I didn't want to keep 2 laptops with me at all times so I decided to keep the Thinkpad from work as a personal laptop.
The laptop was decent enough for all my daily needs and I could even play some games with it.
I had a plan: Use windows to go with win11, on a high speed portable SSD. I couldn't boot with it because they would keep UEFI options completely locked with a password. So I tried to find a workaround.
I managed to do it, just had to turn the laptop off during boot until the Windows troubleshooting screen would show up. Then I just had to pick the option to troubleshoot through windows usb. The laptop would restart, detect the SSD, and boot right into my windows to go drive.
I kept using that thinkpad like that during all the time I spent in that company without any issues whatsoever.
