If you have a decade+ old shitbox that doesn't meet the minimum specs.
It's common knowledge that Windows 11 runs on machines below this - what isn't known widely (mostly because it's the Vista situation all over again: most haters have never actually run it at all, and are just parroting what they see online) is that performance dives in BIG steps when you go under the minimum specs.
>mbec or gmet "required" for virtualization based security
Hyper-V can emulate them, but at a big performance hit.
>sidechannel mitigations are now baked into windows
If you have a pre-Skylake with zero microcode "help" for them, another perf hit.
>windows really likes nvme ssds because it assumes it can belt out i/o whenever it feels like
If you have a SATA SSD (or worse, an HDD), you will feel the slowdown.
>twelve generations of 5% ipc improvements have added up to an almost 100% ipc uplift
This is why a $100 current-gen Celeron shits all over your overclocked-to-5.5GHz 2500KYS.
